If they accept the concept of evolution they immediately bring into question two important stories from the bible: Adam and Eve, and Noah's flood.

And if the Bible is wrong about them it automatically leads to the question "what else is the Bible wrong about?"

I'm not Christian, and far, far from "bible fundies," however, I am an avid lover of science.

A good, thorough reading of my college biology textbook (and a genetics book for fun, yes I know I'm weird) showed serious flaws in the theory of evolution. How the hell could my Freshman year in college give me enough knowledge to seriously question the claims of evolution?

We do Not see evolution today. We see divergence within a single genome, or more specifically, within a single breed. Dogs are a fine example. Yes, take a bunch of mutts (nice, big gene pool) and kill off 50% of the puppies born, all 50% being ones that are small. (natural selection X 20). Within but a few generations, you'll get large dogs. Problem is... eventually, you'll clean out all "small" DNA from the genepool. The dogs won't evolve into another species. Not once in the thousands of years of dog breeding has a new species arisen. They can all mate and have virile children (the standing definition of same species).

And, mutation really isn't cutting it either. Fruit flies reproduce by the ton, and how long have they been bathing those flies in radiation exactly? I think 20 years ago (though I could be off) they "knew" that they'd spark evolution in these experiments They still haven't, though they've gotten bunches of deformed flies. No evidence for evolution, not even the tiniest bit, which is why that experiment, still running, is less and less spoken of.

The physics and other flaws are equally difficult to overcome. I can, and have, written a long paper on the subject, so don't see this as uninformed, see this as the really, really short version.

To be raised by the "religion" of the scientific community one might easily accept evolution. But if raised differently, then one will question it. If truly, honestly questioned, the flaws will be made apparent. Bible fundies both question it, rightfully so, and have the cornerstone of their faith saying it cannot be.

Now, mind you, I'm not saying evolution didn't happen, or that the world was created. I'm simply saying that the theory is highly flawed, in every aspect I've found. Scientists want an answer to fit in their pre-made box, which evolution does, because they refuse to even consider the possibility of the metaphysical/spiritual.

A central concept in the Christian faith is the idea of eternal life received through Jesus, who is called the "second Adam," while death was inherited from the first Adam. Fundaentalists believe that this concept only holds water if Adam was a literal person; therefore, they demand a literal interpretation of Genesis.

This is not a universal opinion among Creationists. There are other interpretations of Genesis besides Young-Earth Creationism that allow for the existence of a literal Adam without requiring a literal interpretation of Genesis 1. I'm a Progressive Creationist.

Dear Friend,

The Bible is against evolution for the simple reason, evolutionists believe in the "big bang theory." Problem: There would still have to be a "source" in order to create a big bang. Also, many worship creation rather than the Creator (Jehovah God).

Remember, evolution is only a theory which means, "idea." God's Word on the other hand is biblical fact with fufilled prophecy.

God's Word emphatically starts... "In the Beginning..." Genesis 1:1

Our opinions don't count. I believe in the Word of God and that He is the Creator and created man in His image and desires to have a personal relationship with His creation. However, SIN blocks this spiritual fellowship and only repentance opens the doors for mankind to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Period.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God spoke in Exodus 20:3 saying, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." Evolution is a god.

In Christ Jesus,

Bible 'fundies' are against the theory of evolution because it contradicts the truth of the Genesis account of Creation.

We are not against study of how the world came about as long as it is done from a Biblical viewpoint.

See a painting, you know there's a painter, see a building, you know there's a builder, see creation, you know there's a creator.
Evolution contradicts God; therefore to believe in evolution is to mock God. The bible says "Be not deceived, for God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man sows, that he shall reap."
When Ramses decreed death to Moses' son he mocked God, so Moses' son lived, but Ramses son died.
2 Thes 2:2-12 explains that satan will use every form of wicked deceit on the world in the last days, doing all possible to lead people away from God. Yes, Satan thought up evolution and he will continue to tell it as long as it gets him what he wants; people separated from God.
You may say Darwin thought it up; he studied, etc. No, the devil is a liar; he will show up on earth with supernatural powers and sit down in the temple in Jerusalem and claim to be God. The bible says that satan is a master deceiver. All of his power is in lies and deceit. He has no power without it; until he shows up on earth with supernatural powers to deceive people into thinking he is God. But he is not God. The bible says plainly what he will do and what he will say, which is what I've just said, according to the bible. But those who do not know the bible, will believe the lies of satan because they will not have the truth to go by ahead of time.

The Bible tells me how it came about. How come a Evolution book is not world wide? How come it isn't something that a lot of people have picked up to read? No where in a Evolution book does it tell you everything about life. Can someone say that book(Evolution) doesn't tell us on how to liv now. I didn't read anything about life, love, nothing. That book (evolution) was a waste of time writing, my opinion. God Bless!

I'm not really against it. I'm against people who fail to ask where the Big Bang came from.

Why are atheists against the idea that evolution is very unlikely....? More unlikely than a tornado hitting a junkyard and leaving behind a brand new Boeing 747.

A good scientist would be open to the fact that evolution is still flawed and unproven and although they might think it is the best possible explanation we have so far, they would never close their minds to the possibility that it is incorrect.

They aren't against studying how the world came about, as long as Genesis is the only text book used.

2000 years ago, people would have looked at anyone who took Genesis literally as if they were nuts. We seem to be getting dumber with time.
