I received an iTouch today as a gift. It has 8 gig, my current iPod works flawlessly and hold 30 gigs, plus my music already takes up 9 gigs. On Target's website, it says that with a receipt I can get store credit. I'm sorry, but I don't want to spend $300 at Target. I would prefer the cash. I can't get the person to return the iTouch and so I have to return it myself?!!? Talk to management? I'd prefer cash or maybe a $100 store credit, $200 cash. Can I barter? Please help me!?!?!!?

sell it online, you might not get 300, but you'll get something you can actually use.

Unfortunately, you won't get cash from a retailer nowadays with out the original receipt. Instead of trying to sell a store credit on line, the better value would be to sell the item on line without returning it. Some people see the on line gift card selling as scams and may be apprehensive to buy an on line store credit that you may only get pennies to the dollar for.

If all you is the gift receipt, all you can get is store credit. Target, along with most other places, only give store credit for returns with gift receipts.

The only way you can get cash is if the original purchaser paid by cash or check, and you have the original receipt. If it was paid by a credit card, the only way they will return it is by crediting the card back, or gift card. There is really no way around it.

I would suggest talking to whoever gave you the gift, tell them you appreciated it, but already have one, and would rather have the cash. If not, then you're stuck with Target credit.

I would suggest you talk to the person who gave you the gift and just explain that you like it but have one already. Ask politely if they could return it. Consider that for an expensive gift like that they may have put it on credit and planning to pay it off over time , so they may not be able to give you that much cash.

Return it for a store credit and then sell the credit on eBay.

people sell gift cards on craigslist...you might not get 100% back, but a pretty good chunk. Target sells stuff that everybody needs like toliet paper, toothpaste...it might take you a while to spend it but who knows??? How about christmas gifts??
