It is quite common that a girl says she wants a nice guy, but in the end, she ends up dating a jerk. Why is that ?
I, too, have been rejected in the past in favor for a jerk. Do I need to act like a jerk just to get girls ?

Jon (above) was pretty much spot on! Younger girls like the 'treat 'em mean , keep 'em keen' attitude in their guys and I suppose no girl wants to date a goody-goody. This said, women soon tire of the bad boy image when they realise that they are sat on their own at home while their fella is down the pub with his mates!
So rest easy, stay true to yourself and one day, you will bump right into Mrs Right when you are least expecting it!
I too married my naughty but nice guy! That was in 1992 and yes, we are still going strong! Hurrah!

Funny that you ask this question. I am looking for someone that is a really nice guy. A guy that I would not date ordinarily as I have been getting with some real jerk's. I just broke up with my ex about 2 weeks ago for suspecting him cheating and he has the nerve to tell me that he hooked up with this women because she has money but he really wants to be with me so when he is done with the chick he with can he come back home. He has lost his damn mind but I put so much energy into it and its like you know he's wrong but you try it anyway. I think women settle for less and because the majority of the men are into the videos and sex appeal and they think they are players and they come off like they got it like that and make it appealing to a woman. We see all this in a loser and once we get to talking to them you see signs that he is no good but he is the ruff type you want or has the financial security most women look for while you may be the one making ok money but enough to help build something with a woman and have your own little apartment and a simple car and they walk right by because its not appealing to them when it is realistic. They dont know you will treat them like a queen or wine or dine or have a huge house somewhere but you do not flash. I think women go for what looks worth while blinded to what is realistic. Women say they want a good man and go for men who are completly the opposite. What makes you such a nice guy so maybe I can evaluate the next guy I decide to date which will be a long time from now. Good Luck you will find someone and I know even though I have had a few assholes I will find one too. LOL.

I don't know if this is true to everyone but I find that I'm too scared to care for someone on such an emotional level.
With 'jerks' you know where you stand and the chance of falling is minimal. Eventually we realise they do more harm than good and allow ourselves to fall for the nice guy, hoping that he will catch us.
Or in some cases we feel for the 'jerks' and are convinced that once they have one girl who cares about them they will change. We sometimes think we can change them

I wanted a nice guy and I got one!
No you do not need to act like a jerk. Just be yourself and a girl who has been hurt by too many jerks will come along and appreciate you.

Why do guys prefer girls that like jerks? Why do guys prefer bitches? It's probably the same reason...they don't believe they deserve any better. They can't relate to nice guys because that's not the way they're used to being treated. Sad but true. Usually, they will grow out of it in enough time.

Most girls like the nice guy with a touch of excitement. Most jerks are players. They start out like the nice guy and treat the girl with a lot of respect, show her all the attention she wants and more, very polite and gentlemanly. Once they win her over and she can't live without him he shows his true colors.

Its easier to say than to do.
I never like jerks, and I always tend to avoid them. Besides, most of the the jerks are the ones with STD's since desperate girls generally go for them ;)

Because we fall for the "nice guy" act the "jerks" play.

No dont act like a jerk better yet just be yrself jerk or not eventually you may find a girl interested in you.

oh no do not say that at all. certain types of girls like certain types of drama.when they say i want a nice guy who treats me right and blah blah, shes simply following the fad. its now cool to be like ahh poor me im distresssed and i need a nice boy to come save me. she goes with the jerk becuase hes in her leauge, he nows how to talk to girls but doesnt know how to treat them. they are in a relationship before they get hurt, they dont know what they are in for when they say yes.dont start acting like a jerk, if they want a jerk then they are not your girl.
P.S. take my advice im one of those popular girls, except i don't follow trends i set them so i know EXACTLY what i am talking about ;D

Ten to one, if she can't see the difference between a nice guy and a jerk, you probably don't really want to date her anyway.
Stay nice, a sane one will come along eventually.
