Honey, the 525 ISN'T the narcotic in the percocet. It's the acetaminophen (Tylenol). DUH. If you took 525mg of oxycodone, you'd die.
Also, yeah, oxycodone is the narcotic ingredient in percocet.

Percocet 10 mg is obviously twice the dose of 5mg Percocet. Ibuprophen would be a better choice as it is an antiinflammatory as well as an analgesic. Percocet (oxycodone) can become habit forming as well. It is never a good idea to take someone else's prescription. If you need something stronger to manage your arthritis then you should see your physician.

5/25 percocet contains 5mg oxycodone and 325 mg of Tylenol.

Close but no cigar. Percocet has acetaminophen in it which is just another name for Tylenol. Oxycodone will relieve the pain faster and may stay in your system longer. It is also not as constipating as the Percocet.
