Are you looking for body with your thin, short hair? Then you definately don't want any shampoo that's super moisturizing because it'll actually weigh your hair down.
Is you hair color treated? That's something else to consider when looking at shampoos. Just because a shampoo is professional doesn't mean they all help preserve color.
TIGI Self Absorbed smells wonderful and does have some good moisturizing and strengthening qualities (with the vitamins that are also in it). However, my biggest pet peeve about the TIGI product was the packaging. Those nozels aren't always the easiest to open with wet hands.
If you're looking for a little bit of body I would recommend Redken's Body Full. Smells pretty good and works really well. Halo also has a great volumizing line. And as an added bonus, both are fully 100% safe for colored/hi-lited hair.
Whatever you do, don't go for drugstore. A lot of the shampoo's there are not correctly pH balanced for you hair and can damage while they cleanse. Also, a lot of them have coating properties because of products like wax that are added.
In terms of a note of cost of drugstore vs. professional, if you use shampoo correctly, professional shampoo costs you 5 cents a wash while drug store actually cost you 7.5 cents a wash. Kinda surprising, huh?
Hope this helps!

TIGI Self Absorbed, Moisture Maniac, and Dumb Blonde have all gotten good ratings in Paula Begouns' book 'Don't Go Shopping for Hair Products Without Me'. She rates a huge array of product lines on their ability to do what they say. All those Bedhead shampoos and conditioners were rated 'very good' for all hair types, and they are all basically the same formula.
PS. To add fullness and body to your hair just use a clarifying/chelating shampoo once a week to rid your hair of mineral deposits and styling products. Nexxus Aloe Rid works well. Use the Bedhead products the other days of the week and you should be absolutely fine.

I wouldn't recommend Bedhead Self Absorbed for you, if you have thin hair, as it is moisturizing which caused some weight on the hair.
I would try a shampoo that is volumizing, to create some body and fullness to your hair.

either Tonic shampoo from Bumble and Bumble, it has a healthy dose of tea tree oil, that I always sell to men (they love it.) or Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner.
You could also go with their Density Therapy line which does not claim to grow that you've lost back, but definitely cleans out what clogs your hair follicles, and creates a healthy, nourishing environment for your hair to grow in. think of every follicle as a pot of soil, and your hair as a plant. you gotta have fertile soil, for a healthy plant. that is exactly what this product creates. pricey, but definitely worth it.

Humm Id use head and shoulders. Its been rated the BEST shampoo time after time. It will helpyour thin hair get thicker and more hair to actually grow. Healthy hair starts at the scalp.
