With your writing skills, I would either have to say that you are drunk, uneducated or you are a non US Citizen and don't speak english very good.

It is not required to have a drivers license to be in the Military however, job placement will be limited.

Your best bet is to join the Army in their 2 year program. You'll be a grunt during that 2 years but the payout for college is pretty good.

I'm not sure of the current regulations but there might be a waiting period of up to 1 year after a DUI before you could enlist. Check it out with the recruiter.

First thing first, you don't join the military just for a year. It's 4 year to 6 years. You have to thing about that. If you are not willing to put your life on the line. Die for you country, and respect others above you. Then this is not for you. The military either changes you for the good or bad. Some change to where they don't care about killing others, and some do it because they know that's what they were told.
You don't need that job. I'm sure there are other jobs out there for you. Just don't do this if you really don't want to.
I guess the best thing for you to do is go to which ever branch you are looking at.
Another thing, we are not fully in war. Congress has not passed a formal declaration of war, or authorized any military action.

The likelihood that your job will still be there is slim. Despite the fact that you would be serving your country, that company needs that job filled. Also, joining the military is no small commitment, especially now that we are at war. You would also need to consider if you are physically able to join the military,. The training is rough, and every member of the military is required to always be fit enough to fight. Would you be able to handle having minimal control over where you live? You would be sent where people are needed, regardless of where you want to be. The reason you are using is, in my mind, an absolutely idiotic reason to make such a huge decision.

you drunk while typing that? I mean we let all kinds of GED kids in now, but dang.

Legally, enlisting will not save your job, get you out of a lease, or anything like that. You have the choice to enlist or not, and chose to do so knowing it could cost you. If on the other hand you are already in and called to duty w/o a choice in the matter then yes you have a lot of protections. Now, will your employer choose to hire you back after training? Maybe, maybe not, who knows. If you want to enlist though you'll need a waiver for that DUI, and it being recent will make that more difficult. Feel free to talk to a recruiter, but I can't say for sure we can help you on that one.

You cant join the military for just a year. Minimum enlistment is 2 years for the Army. I suggest called a recruiter for any other questions.

Holy run on sentence as well

One: if you are still on probation, you will NOT be enlisting.
Two: having a DUI is a no go for most Branches, especially a recent one. maybe in 5-7 years you may have a shot at enlisting.
Three: USERRA only applies to reservists and Guard called up for Active Duty. It does NOT apply if you enlist Active duty. so no, your employer is not obligated to hold your job if you enlist. He is only required to save your job while you are in training for the Reserves. HOWEVER since you have lost your DL, you cannot do your job and therefore he has every right to terminate your employment even if you DO get to enlist.

first off SPELL CHECK & use punctuation please.

second, you will probably need a waiver for the D.U.I the military generally doesn't like to take criminals.

It's not impossilbe, but won't be the easiest enlistment your recruiter has processed.

Good luck.
