I usually cook the next day's lunch when I'm cooking dinner the night before. I usually put the food in a microwaveable container and stick it in the fridge, but by the time I prepare it for lunch the next day, it just doesn't taste good.

I usually grill chicken breasts on the George Foreman grill and then cook some rice or noodles or something, and it just doesn't do it for me.

Is there a better way to store the food? Am I reheating it wrong? Should I add sauces or whatever before I microwave it?

Yeah, some things just aren't the same the next day. Grilled stuff usually doesn't keep that well, unless you add sauce to it before you nuke it or something. Some stuff is better reheated, (spaghetti comes to mind, imo) but most of the time you have to keep in airtight and make sure you don't overcook it.

Since I'm usually not too picky about leftovers, the best advice I can give you is: store in an airtight container, don't overdo it in the microwave and try adding sauces before or after nuking depending on your taste. You'll find that there are some things though , that just won't keep. Chicken and turkey, unless they're in a casserole, are really bad reheated. If it has a thick sauce with it it will probably nuke ok. Mostly though, it's personal taste.

the whole concept of the George Foreman grill is to cook the meat while the fat drains away. the chicken breast meat has very little fat, it seems to work great when you eat the meat immediately after cooking yet when it comes to reheating the meat it has no internal moisture left in it to help in the microwaving process. that is why the meat is not as flavorful when reheated. try sauteing your chicken breast in a little water (no oil) in a skillet on the stove top, with spices and seasonings added, I like soy or lemon pepper. see if the portion you set aside reheats with the same lack of taste.

A lidded container for the food in the bag. We used to use a small garbage can and line it with a plastic bag with a twist tie. As for the food in the bowl, If the dog is leaving left overs, you are probably feeding him too much. If there is any left, it shouldn't be more than a couple of mouthfuls. Remember, dogs can get over weight , just like people can and they will suffer many of the same same obesity related health problems. I would throw out the bowl left overs, rather than trying to save them.

Most things don't taste the same as when you cooked them the night before. There's not a lot you can do about it............It's the nature of the beast. It's an experiment on your part to see which is worth it and which is not.....My personal experience is just to make enough and forget about the leftovers.
(I'm fussy)

add just a little bit of water when you re-heat it (I'm asuming you use a microwave) and try adding a little lemon on top it might make it taste fresher.
