The person you're in love with should be your best friend. They should be the one you feel comfortable sharing your secrets with, the one who supports you, the one who has your back, the one who's there for you and vice versa.

I say its possible. The only difference between best friends and a commited relationship is intimacy.

Some people have the ability to befriend people who have completely different interest. A little debate can be fun!

Best friends also have unwritten rules that can be considered cheating. To lie to your best friend is also terms for a break up.

No. Friendship (no matter how deep it is) is different from a Love (for lack of a better word) relationship. In a Love relationship you are sharing your life with a partner. There is a lot more at stake...children (if they have them), financial, insurance, inheritance, etc. You are one with the person. I will never call my life partner my best friend. I don't believe in keeping secrets from my life partner. With best friends you can and best friends can change depending on circumstances.

Its incredibly hard. My (old) best friend was in love with me, and it just made it so complicated. We couldnt talk about any of the usual things like current boyfriends. He was always upset when i would get involved or meet a new guy. Finally i had to distance myself from him. We are still friends, but only chat through email. I havent even seen him for a year. :( it was such a sad ending to the best friend i could ever have. I couldnt date him because he used to date my sister, but thats a whole other oprah. ")

yes i think you can be and i think it's better that way because no matter how in love you stay with the person you will always love them as a friend. not to mention being in a relationship takes you away from a lot of your old friends so being able to consider your significant other a best friend comes in handy.

In the perfect world your love interest is your best friend! But if you only desire for your best friend to be your love interest then you have a problem. It is difficult to maintain that type of relationship. It often ends daily with a lot of hurts and disappointments and not to mention built up resentment,

Yes you can be the best friend of someone you love or are in love with. You do and you don't have to be your partner's best friend. I want to let my partner know that i can be trusted at all times that's why i allow my partner to be my best friend. If you want have a closed best friendship then that's to each its own.

yes you can be bestfriends w/ the person you're in love w/.. thing is.. depends if are they in a relationship? or they already broke up? if they are in a relationship. you can be a friend, bestfriend, lover, hhm.. watever you can think of.. depending on the situation.. its like being there for the person you love.. or if its the latter (they broke up already)? its not that easy to be bestfriends.. the tension, the awkwardness.. somehow the gurl cant handle it.. it would take time.. maybe it wont happen..

hope this answers ur question..

You NEED to be friends with the person you are in love.

If your relationship does not have friendship as a foundation, you have nothing. How can there even BE love without friendship??

If anyone thinks they can have a successful relationship without friendship, then they are half-witted and that's the truth, it's just not possible.

You can and it's the very best plan of all. That doesn't mean that you don't have other friends as well. The best marriages are between people who are friends as well as lovers. It gives both of you a deeper investment in the relationship.
