I would try everything possible before going on antidepressants....I would suggest that you start taking vitamins (one a day,centrum is good) stop having sugar and salt.....Eat whole grains, and lots of fruits and vegetables, eat fish at least three days a week......next, you need to get outside and breath in fresh air, put on some sweats, a good pair of walking shoes and try to walk everyday for 30 minutes, If you feel self conscious, wear sun glasses until you feel stronger..Avoid fast foods , they pack on pounds..

I have also wondered why everyone else is so happy. I have also been depressed for a long time, probably about seven years now. I'm also insecure and have trouble focusing on work. I also have no friends and didn't want any until recently, but after being alone for so long, and with my attitude I don't think I can make any, so its just another thing I'll have to live with. You sound similar to me. Unfortunately I don't have any solutions for you, I hope maybe you feel a little better knowing you're not alone in your situation. When I think about it, I dream of a day when someone else like you will have escaped from this life and made everything better, so that I might learn how you did it and have new hope. Do your best for people like me, and I hope your life turns all better some day.

be happy you have a life.
it may not be the one you want, so work at it. what have you got to loose? you only get 1 life, so try to make the best of it.
be happy you have a job.
you may not like it, but its better than not having one at all.
things could be so much worse.
if you dont want friends, then experiment with what cheers you up.
try different things, you're bound to crash into something that makes you feel less sucky.
depression can be hard, but all you can do is try to work through it.
and when you're done you'll learn more than ever.
keep a journal.
dont write crap like "life sucks, idk what to do" actually write what you think about the world. think about where you see it going. pessimistic writing can be the best if it's crafted right, and it'll be helpful to read after.
if i sound like i'm full of it, its because i am.
i understand that during depression it feels like theres no end. that everything you do it pointless and you cant change a thing even if you put all your might into it. but thats not true. you'll be all right. you just have to try to relax.
find something to do with your life.
take a walk.
watch an inspiraring movie.
dont let life pass you by because you're too busy complaining.
lifes too short to waste time with senseless self pity.
hope you find your niche.

Just no that everything in life happens for a reason, it might seem like a bad time to you rite now but depression can only stay with you as long as you let it,Try the next morning when you get up out of bed say to yourself today will be better than yesterday and tomorrow will be even better than that have a good one hun.

You sound like you need to talk to someone that can help you. I suggest you find a counselor you feel comfortable with and discuss how you are feeling. I think you may be depressed.
The things you list, YOU can do something about, if you really want to. That is the important thing...you have to WANT to.
Over weight, lose it. No friends, make some. Working all the time, find a way to cut your hours. Not happy, find out why.
You can change you life by really looking at it and making changes. Begin today, find a good counselor and start some talk therapy to find out why you are in this state. Good luck and take care of yourself.

ok I know what you mean! I have been there for my whole life. as soon as things are going great then all hell breaks loose! and when it rains it friggin poors!!!!!!! that is just "the Devil" sayin oh you are happy well here you go, Just rember it will never be more than you can handle.
As for the insecuirity issue you have to learn to love your self because if you cant love yourself then no one else will. If you feel you are over weight then go to the gym of start walking, this is what I am doing I eat a small breakfast with my coffee every day then mid day I eat small lunch drink lots of water try to stay away from sodas, and when I eat dinner i never eat past 700pm. with you eatting breakfast then you are not so hungry and do not over eat, also you body is not so starving it starts to eat you own fat(this is what it does when you do not eat) sodas (with carbonation make you stomache expand) and the sugar is not good for you either, not eating past 700 pm gives you body time to digest you food before you sleep and distribute it to where it needs to go. when you eat then go to sleep the food and carbs turn strait to fat and depasits its self in your problem areas, just rember you are beautiful and so worth it. find inner happiness with your self and the rest will follow, E-mail me if you need someone to talk to a1bowman84@yahoo.com

I feel the same way, I"m 15 years old, and I don't have any friends in my city they all moved away. And no one likes me, unless i talk to them first, but you have to realize not all people are bad, and to be happy you have to take risks and jumjps to find trure happiness, you should try talking ot a counselour, if you let it all out you'll feel much better

hon, you do not have to live this way, go see your doctor about getting on some form of anti depressant. There are so many of them, and there will be one especially for you. and it will help immensely. Hope you feel better soon.
