Any other problems? Like eyesight? Since the headache won't go away, I'd suggest seeing your Dr. A headache can be a symptom of something else going on. Have it checked out......
BTW, a sudden headache and impaired vision are symptoms of a stroke......and a pituitary gland problem. Make sure your okay.....

The best headache remedy that I have found over the years is an ice pack on the back of the neck. It helps relieve the blood vessels and the headache simply goes away. I drink herbal teas sometimes to relieve the headache, but usually the ice pack is the easiest and there are so strange side effects.

Check your medications-most have some sort of headache sympton associated with taking the medicine. The best thing if you can is to get off all meds slowly-I did from the advice of a nurse, if possible-see a naturpathic physician or MD who supports this-get your written results from tests-keep a folder-so you can evaluate for yourself if your own protocol is working for you, but you are the one together with your doctor making decisions- perhaps some natural herbs. Dandelion tea is a natural dieutric releasing you of extra fluid. Again this was treatment from a naturpathic physican. It works. Fluid retention could cause pressure to accumulate in the tissues, due to other drugs you may take, but definately have a neurlogical evaluation. Are you prone to headaches? I take "Wild" Norweign Salmon oil and Vitamin E as an antioxident-it naturally thins the blood-my doctor says it's ok, a B-Complex 50 mg helps with stress in our lives can cause so many other problems. Get plenty of rest and know I am hoping you get relief. I have included a food list that helps to promote the natural bodies ability to repair itself. Our body repairs itself every 7 years, totally, so says, Ahment OZ, MD from Oprah show, he's a regular. It is the Yahoo Group, "Balmgilead" from Keep Smiling-"Share This Chart" Happy reading...

Your Gall Bladder or Urinary Bladder Meridian might have blockage at neck.
Instead of meds you should think of Alternatives.
There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases like RA, Back ache, earache etc. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES,
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
These useless drugs have enormous power to create hazardous side effects like liver/kidney failure, ulcer, acidity adn lot others.
Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help you if cough is not there.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.
Pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds!

it sounds like a stress headache that is emanating from your shoulders. there are muscles that run from the top of your shoulders up through your neck that ultimately cause the headache. a massage and alternative heat and cold packs on the shoulders and neck should help.
