im not willing to exceed 20k as i need approx 10k to mod the cars (parts i do labor myself) and i know plenty about each and have driven both, evo is awd and is deff more reliable and handles like a lotus, but the RX-7 is RWD and is a rare tuner idol note that im in highschool and already have a RSX-S that is dynoed approx 327 hp and 298 torque depending on boost settings etc and want to replace that with a daily driver and that be the supplement for good (ish) gas mileage,

im not a poser tuner wannabe, just so you get it, im SCCA registered, took classes @ MIS (michigan international speedway), and have topped off in my friends EVO 8 MR at 209mph so no im not a poser and i know what im doing i am looking for a car to make an ultimate sleeper kind of deal. prolly going to twin turbo, larger intercoolers, all new suspension, and if my parents will permit me a 250 shot of NOS will be installed also, doing all the work myself clearly shows my knowledge.

If you're going to spend 10000 f***ing up the cars why not just spend an extra 10000 on the car in the first place to get a better car (i.e. one that won't break down every couple of days)?
The cheapest way to get more performance out of a car is to buy it with the car in the first place, the manufacturer has a better economy of scale than you do (or any of the after market tuning companies) making them more cost effective.
If you're still in school though then you shouldn't even be considering either car, you're not an experienced enough driver to handle the power they have.
Get something with a 4 cylinder Naturally Aspirated engine and leave it stock (and a Lancer EVO or RX-7 is not a sleeper, a stock looking Corolla OTOH).

I guess the RX-7. The EVO is hellah better in many ways, but there more common, unless you get an MR. Also, it's a 4 seater. Thats pretty convient. But then again, the RX-7 is rare and is only a 2 seater. Hard choice. But if I had to choose, RX-7. Rotary power. ;D

The RX7 is more rare, and a cooler tuner car. The Evo is just too popular now, and already has a lot of power, so it wouldnt be as fun to modify, becuase the gains would be minimal compared to the RX7!
I do loooove AWD though, so it would be a tough choice, cant really go wrong with either, but I say the RX7.

as you know already,
RX-7 =
(pros) under 20k, great for drifting with 50/50 balance, RWD for highway and roll ons racing.
(cons) Cheap electrical problem, Starter failure.
Evo =
(pro)AWD great with handles, great with launches/ gets up and go, full torque at 3500 rpm, If you get an MR they are more reliable and is way faster due to 6 gears, higher compression w/ lower boost.
(cons) Over 20k, Sensor problems, Expensive parts.

You should get an Evo instead of an RX-7. I think that it looks better, is more reliable, and is sportier than the RX-7.

i love both cars. and i would have a hard time deciding between the two.
rx-7 is nice but they discontinued it. not sure why.
i would go with the EVO. its easier to customize even though rx-7s are rare. i guess it also depends on the year of the evo.

first, rx-7's are really not that rare. Second, the rotaries rev alot faster. Third, you look like a wannabe racer/tuner in an evo.
