Same we Spanish speakers say "Estados Unidos" when the real word is "America". I do think you are able to say "Italia" but I can assure that EspaÑa would be very difficult to be pronounced because of the realization of the "Ñ" that does not appear among your phonetic sounds.

Maybe because we say it in English. Just like we say Estados Unidos instead of United States. and by the way is spell España, not Espana.

Why do Spaniards say "Americanos" and "Ingles"?
Are they incapable of saying "American" and "English"?
You can't say that I'm incorrect because they would say it with a heavy accent, because Americans in the same situation would have heavy accents saying "Italia" and "Espana."

I think it's because you are saying it in English. If you say it the other way you would be saying it in Spanish. it's doesn't have anything with how you say it. plus it's España
