A true Christian realizes he/she is a sinner and that Christ died in his/her place on the cross, so the sinner could have eternal life.
Confess to God that he/she is a sinner.
Be sorry for that sin.
Asks God to forgive his/her sins.
Asks Jesus to come live in his/her heart/soul, this will awaken his/her spiritual life.
At this point then Holy Spirit enters the person and he/she is born from above.
This person is then a Christian,
as he/she believes with all his/her heart, body and soul that Jesus died for them.
A Christian will then repent of any more sins,
have an active prayer life, study the bible, try to live a good life acceptable to God.
Google in the "4 spiritual laws" to see more in detail on what a Christian really is.

Jesus taught spiritual development. Because he got results he received the title Kristos (Greek I believe) , which means "the annointed one". So the one who has been affirmed in his position. Presumably by God since his fellow teachers kind of disagreed.
So for me being a Christian means that I accept the autority of those God has appointed, not those mankind has appointed. Appointment is done and confimed through receiving the more or less continuous blessing of the holy spirit. So no holy sprit present then I don't accept them or listen to them. God has appointed Jesus, but also various saints, prophets and even common people without religious titles or functions. I accept all of them as having served His purpose at that time and place and as such a form of guidance and inspiration for my own present, which must utlimately be guided by the Holy spirit itself rather than ancient saints.

Loaded question with a complex answer! It depends on who you ask. Baptist answer: if you have received Jesus into your heart as your personal Savior (requiring a personal prayer and, with some sects, a public announcement). Some other protestant denominations might say you are "Christian" if you try to lead a Christ-like life, doing loving acts and having loving thoughts. Others mights say that you just have to believe that Jesus Christ was the "Messiah" or savior of the world of sinners or was the living son of God. However, there are some sects that call themselves "Christian" because they believe in the morality of Christ's teachings although they view Christ as a mere mortal prophet.
My personal view, each person has to decide on their own determination of if they consider themselves a "Christian", but also be respectful of other's views.

Well the word 'real' to me doesn't fit into the equation. A real Mormon? a real Jehovah's Witness? A Christian is simply someone, male or female, gentile or Jew, who proclaims Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior. Who has 'faith' that the Bible is the spoken and written Word of God.
I think sometimes some people and churches attempt to make it a little more difficult than that, but that is what a Christian is.

Christianity is not a religion: It's a relationship between the individual and Christ.
A TRUE Christian believes in the fact Christ is SON of God and the Savior. They believe in the fact that Christ died on the cross for their sins NOT for people to keep sinning, but to give people a chance to turn away from sin and grow close and have an intimate relationship with God by following His ways of life. Accepting Jesus into your hearts, and getting baptized (if you live long enough to have that opportunity), getting baptized in FULL submersion in water like Jesus. They read the Bible and treat everyone with kindness, even their enemies. They love everyone not by words, but action. They do not pitch verbal stones and though Christians don't become perfect, they do strive to live as best as they truly can, with the help of God. They totally turn their lives over God, letting God be their ruler and people stop playing God with their own lives. Christians are not afraid to admit their belief in God, for if they are ashame to admit their faith to someone Jesus will be ashame to acknowledge them before His Father. People become truly sorry for their sins and work with God and make efforts to do away with sin; this is called repenting. And Christians give godly advice, advice pleasing to the Lord, and they seek heavenly kingdom and heavenly treasures first; they don't place too much emphasis on worldly stuff. They serve God instead of serving money. They are willing to put the need of others above their own.
I hope I been of help!

Jesus said you must be born again. Are you born again? Do you have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ? Do you believe that the Bible is the true and infallible word of God and there is no other scripture? Do you believe that Jesus is God? Do you put your faith in him and him alone? If your answers to all of these questions are yes, then you are a Christian.

The Bible definition - a person who accepted Jesus Christ, and who lives for Him
The Unbeliever definition - those who observed these believers called them followers of Jesus Christ as recorded in the Book of Acts. It was an observation by those who were not believers in Jesus.
It means to be like Him

A true Christian is a person who has put his or her faith and trust in the person of Jesus Christ and fact that He died on the cross as payment for sins and rose again on the third day to obtain victory over death and to give eternal life to all who believe in Him. John 1:12 tells us: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” A true Christian is indeed a child of God, a part of God’s true family, and one who has been given new life in Christ. The mark of a true Christian is love for others and obedience to God’s Word (1 John 2:4; 1 John 2:10).

A person who definitely can tell you a time in their life when they realized they were separated from God because of the Bible identifying us as sinners. They with their total heart prayed to Jesus to save them and made Him Lord of their life. A definite time.... a definite act of total will......a definite moment. He was the giver, we were the receivers of eternal life by His grace. Thank you Lord.
