Okay, so I know that the best thing is for people to come to america the right way. I know many people who are illegal. But, I think that the government takes things sometimes a little too far. About 3 months ago, families were split apart, some taken back to mexico, while their children stay here. I know this is the law, but is the law to be cruel?

Also don't blame their children for a decision their parents made, the decision to come here illegally.

I'm just tired of racist white(sorry) people who think they're better.

What does the law being carried our have to do with racism? Is it the governments fault that the families that where torn apart happened to be brown? NO. And if they would have just played by the rules they would not have had that trauma. SO they brough it on themselves by disregarding the Law of the Land. The children should have been sent with the parents back to where ever it was that the parents came from in the first place. Birth right citizenship be damned!!

You need to hold the parents responsibly for breaking up the family, many leave behind in their homes counties their family, wives, husbands and I am sure children, so why is it only a big deal when it happens here. They always have the option to take their children with them. One of the reasons we have so many illegals and more coming each day is because our government has not made a effort to curb the flow and hold both the illegals and those that hire them like the criminals they are. As to your racist charge, being the influx is mostly Latin American, and most Latin Americans are from the Spanish conquistadors, and Spain is European county it is not about racism

I'll try to respectfully address this, as well as I can.

First of all, I'll agree that it stinks for the kids who had no choice in coming illegally. I'll give you that one.

However, if people come here illegally, that is the chance they take. They know that if they are caught, they can be deported, and children who have been born in the U.S. can stay. No one forces a person to be an illegal alien, it is a choice.

As to your comment about whites... American citizens that feel strongly about enforcing immigration laws are ALL races, not just white. Also, illegal aliens are comprised of many different races, too.

As to people thinking they are better, that's not true. Americans are not "better", but as citizens, we ARE sovereign in our rights, when in our own country. One of the privileges of citizenship.

You can forget all about that racist crap. It ain't gonna fly here. People with a half a brain know good and well illegal immigration has nothing to do with racist's issues. IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH LEGALITY AND YOU DO NOT WANT TO ACCEPT THE LEGALITY ASPECT OF IT. You want to divert attention to something that does not apply.

There are consequences to coming to this country without proper documentation. Illegals should be prepared for those consequences when they are apprehended.

A country will no longer exist without law and border control.

Few people think they are better. Like so many with liberal attitudes you find " illegal " to be acceptable. I don't. Some one violated the law and regardless if a child was born to them in America the whole bunch should be deported including the child. America shouldn't have to support any illegal like the mayor of New Haven suggests by issuing ID cards. My taxes pay for all this foolishness and it gets worse by the minute in CT. Our Senator Dodd !!!!! Forget him!!!

We don't think we are better, we just want controlled immigration. Why is ok for every other country in the world to secure their borders but its a sin for the US to do so. Did you know that the Mexicans secure their southern border with their military and will not let anyone through but its ok if their citizens sneak through our southern border. I want to know who these people are, you realize that about one third of our prison population is made up of illegals, and they aren't there for being illegal they did some serious crimes. By the way its not just us whites who are against illegal immigration.

I agree that it stinks.

The US policy has been to turn a blind eye to these folks for DECADES. Now all of a sudden, you want people to turn on a dime and change the behavior that has been acceptable for generations.

The laws have always been quite 'cruel'; look up the Chinese Exclusion Act and other shameful periods of US immigration history.

It is terrible when families are sepparated like that. I would absolutely back any measure to assure that the children of illegals accompany them back to thier homelands, so that families would not be broken up. Parental rights really get short shrift in our society, and it has to stop.

Maybe people should stop only looking at this one sided. We have laws. I and most other people live by them. Your right, its not the childs fault, but I didn't put that child in that
situation. The parents did. They should have gone through
the correct procedures and they wouldn't be separated.
