Well I'm pretty sure it's a skin problem because I sit beside her during class and it's the same smell every single day.

Would you want to know if you smelled bad, or would you like people to go behind your back and talk poorly of your odor? I personally would like someone to come up to me directly, and tell me if I ever have BO.

Get that person a lovely gift box of... SOAP!
Ok, besides that find out if she's on a certain medication.
I had a friend with a severe bone disease (cystic fybrosis, is it?) and he had BO cause of the medications he took constantly. But really, the person needs to know, unless you wanna bring a can of air freshener and spray it in front of them. Or recommend a good perfume.
If you're coy just ask them; "What's that awful smell?? Do you smell something?" :P

I swear this is true. Years ago when I was in beauty school, a woman who drank like a fish would come in every week. The alcohol smell actually came out through her pores and her scalp was like sand. I had to take her out from under the dryer and the heat made the stench that much worse. As I was taking the rollers out of her hair I was gagging and she could see me gagging in the mirror she was facing. And I didn't care if she saw me, either. I figured if you have the balls to come in stinking that much, you should expect one of the students to puke all over you! To answer your question, give the person a basket with inexpensive soaps, colognes, a sponge ect and tell them how great this stuff smells and how much you love the scent ect, and you hope they like it as much as you do. hopefully they will use it.

I had to deal with a situation like this when I was working! The VP of Engineering STANK. So everyone in this small company got together and we all chipped in a bought; a wash cloth, soap, shaving cream, ear trimmers (his ear hair was obnoxious - you could braid it), deodorant, cologne, talc powder, and added a list of instructions as to how to use the above and how often to use the above potions! We gift wrapped everything and put it on his desk. It worked for a while - then he retired ! Yay!

I probably wouldn't! My neighbor is from another country and she did not grow up using deodorant. Well, she's been in America 15 years & she still doesn't use it! I've chosen to ignore the odor mainly because I figure she just doesn't want to use deodorant; she's an RN!

I left a new stick of deodorant on their desk. There is no way that you can tell them nicely and not make them uncomfortable. They know that they are not washing or that their clothes are not clean. Some people may have a skin condition that will cause odor but most of the time its lack of good hygeine.

One of my former managers had to deal with a new employee who had body odor and effected everyone who came around him. Well, he spoke to the guy and unfortunately he took it the wrong way...that was his last day and he didn't answer any of our calls.

I think you shouldn't let the person know that everyone knows...act like it's only effecting you(the person telling the "offender"). Maybe that will work.

i would need more info, however, maybe buy them a basket of soaps/shampoos (kinda like a fruit basket)...if you're close, tell them that whatever product they switched to aren't working...or maybe just say that to avoid a public embarassment, you just need to ell them.
