Your parents apparently think the C's are unacceptable. They think you are smarter than that, and want you to do better.
Truthfully, a "C" is not the end of the world, but you still need to resolve the difference with your parents.
Tell you parents that you seem to be having trouble with two of your classes. As them to help you set a plan for doing better in the class. Some kids have parents that can help. Others don't. For example, my dad couldn't do algebra to save his life. If that's the case, talk with them about how you can get help.
Have them help you make a plan for boosting your grades. They may want you to do some things that are hard, like putting away the Playstation, or cutting back on television. In fact, you might even volunteer a couple of those options. If they are reasonable parents, they will recognize that you want to do better, and will appreciate your positive approach.
Most important, don't argue. Don't make excuses. And don't be defensive. Listen to what they have to say. Nod your head, and let them be in control.
Then, make a deal. Tell them you will follow the plan, but you really want to go out on Halloween. If you are sincere, they will probably go along with it.

i don't agree about the "slide" mentality... you do have to do something about it... on the other hand i know how it feels to look forward to something and then this happens and it gets ruined. They way i would do it is like this:
Show them your report card but HAVE A PLAN... say "mom/dad, i got two C's in (subject and subject) BUT (very important word B-U-T it means that you are being responsible and doing something about it) so you say i got a c but i am planning to.... (say a plan that you are going to be able to meet.. you don't want to be seen as a lyer and then it will never work again and you are screwed...0 so just say something like you will talk to the teacher and ask for some extra credit homework or study with someone in the afternoon...
hope it helps... halloween will not make you smarter but enjoy your childhood days... they will never come again... so have fun and be safe

Lose the "slide" mentality before it engulfs your life. C's are for losers. You want to worry about what kind of life you will have or do you want to worry about going TOTing? Get serious.
