How do you feel about cellphones going off during class or lecture in college?

I find it very very rude and annoying. The worst is not the people whose cellphone goes off accidently once in a blue moon. It's the people who constantly have their cellphones go off. It's like they time their own phones or specifically ask people to call them during class so that they can fee 'cool' when their ringtone starts playing. And then they blush a bit and say "oh my bad" as if they never expected it to happen. Even though it happens to them every day!!!

Even worse is when you have a guest speaker talking and keep hearing low beeping noises because the people in front of you are frantically writing text messages to someone on the other side of the room. Like honestly, next time why don't you just skip school and go chat with your friend instead.

SO RUDE!!

I hate it. If I were the professor, I would deduct 10 points off of the next test for someone whose phone rang in class. I suspect that future classes would be silent!

I have had professors go up and take away a cell phone and talk to the person on the other end to embarrass the student. Yes its rude and not a good way to make an impression on your professor. Many classes address this in the syllabus and phones are to be turned off and no texting.

You can always just talk to your classmate and say, "I'm sorry; I find it hard to concentrate on the lecture when you are texting. Would it be okay if you put the phone away until after class?"

confident, cellular telephones are a soreness interior the butt that way. some instructors have spoke back the ringing cellular telephones and embarrassed the pupil as nicely by way of fact the caller. in spite of the shown fact that that's humorous for something of the class.

My cultural geography professor used to answer the calls. It was hilarous and stopped people from doing it again!
