I certainly believe that it's possible.
If you accept that God is an Omnipotent (all powerful) God. Then you also have to accept that He could have created the universe any way he wanted. This would, of course, also include evolution as a possibility. To say that it is not a possibility, that God COULD NOT have created the universe that way, puts limits on God's power that would then mean he is not an omnipotent God. Therefore such assertions are rediculous.
Also, even though the Genesis Creation Story describes a seven day creation cycle, both Psalms and II Peter say "a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day" to God. I.E. time is meaningless to the Almighty.
This does not necessarily mean one thousand 365 day calender years however. In Hebrew numerology the number 1000 was used as a literary device to denote an incalculably large number. The number seven was then similarly used to denote "completeness" so what the creation story in genesis is REALLY saying is that God created ther Universe over a really long time until it was finished. If we interpret it that way, there is no longer any conflict with the scientific theory of evolution. God very well could have done it that way.
In the end however, all of this meaningless Creationism vs. Evolution quibbling aside, the only really important thing is that whatever the method God used to create the Universe, he DID create it. Knowing the exact method and time period might be interesting to find out, but is hardly central to the acceptance or rejection of the teachings of Jesus Christ.. Quite frankly I think it is a false conflict and a distraction from what is really imortant;
I.e the love, grace, and forgiveness of Christ.

That is a very complicated question.
Personally, I think that what is termed "micro-evolution", or the idea that organisms tend to adapt to their environment, is pretty much self-evident.
I don't really believe in what is termed "macro-evolution"...although I can't quite rule it out as a possibility, either.
For me, at least, what is important is that God is the Creator of everything that exists. Obviously, He did not go into detail in the Bible as to His methods...if He had, the world would not be able to contain the books that should be written, eh?
He did give us the important details...
Don't worry so much about the hows, or even the whys.
Just concentrate on Jesus Christ...
And one day, I am sure, the Bible will seem like a "Dick, Jane and Sally" reader to you. You will know more about the workings of the Universe than Stephen Hawkings, himself...

Evolution, specifically, macro-evolution which is one species changing over time to become a new and different species, and biblical Christianity are contradictory. You can't logically have both as evolution denies the existence of a Creator-God. And for the many, many Christians who have made the compromise to accept macro-evolution as true, consider this: macro-evolution relies on time, chance, struggle and death in order to produce the changes necessary for one species to evolve into a new and different species (ie, a frog into a giraffe). However, according to what God tells us in the bible, death, which is so completely necessary for evolution, entered as a result of Adam's sin. In fact, all sin results in death. Our Creator, who is perfect, holy, righteous, and just, who cannot violate His nature, chose as His method of creation a process that involved death, which was a result of sin, which by definition is disobedience to God? God cannot sin because He cannot disobey Himself. It is a contradiction. Therefore, God could not possibly have used and did not use evolution. He simply spoke.
Now, I also know that many Christians feel that science has completely proven evolution. Our faith has nothing to fear from science. Creation scientists use the same scientific evidence as evolutionists, but draw radically different conclusions. Anyone who is serious about the subject should check out the source listed below. It's full of science, but written so you don't have to be a scientist to make sense of it. Just because the arguments for evolution are loud, doesn't make them valid.

I have been a catholic for many years now, and human evolution has the only common sense theory regarding the creation of mankind, biblical and religious theories simply do not hold any water, we are raised and expected to believe in something that is simply here say that was written thousands of years ago, now there is some biblical history that is true but I would caution those that take it all to literally, because I do believe religion as we know it today is about to take a vary big cataclysmic nose dive.

For the third or fourth time today, I am a Christian and I accept that evolution occurred. The evidence is too strong to deny honestly. It does not contradict the Bible. The Bible says God did it, without providing details. It does contradict some people's interpretations of the Bible. That doesn't concern me.

i changed into raised as a Christian yet I nonetheless settle for evolution. i will clarify why. God reported, "enable there be mild. " And He talked with reference to the mild changed into good. i'm highly certain that once the tremendous Bang befell, there turned right into a lot of light. i don't experience the former testomony changed into meant to be taken actually. Adam and Eve are symbolic of society on the time. i imagine it is the point in heritage at the same time as guy began to question himself about his personal morals. perhaps human beings the position placing out to be a lot less nomadic than contained in the previous and hence had to take duty for the relationships they'd with others round them. maximum Christians stay by technique of the recent testomony. those are the classes of Jesus. they're easy morals that all of us might want to stay by technique of.

I believe in micro evolution. changes with in the same kind of animal. Other than that no I don't believe it and there is no logical reason to believe in it. Even the evidence fails for the believers of this evolution theory. It's insanity to turn your back on God over a theory with no real evidence.

Hello, Happy:
All major denominations (excepting Seventh-day Adventists) have endorsed theistic evolution. That means Genesis could be symbolic or poetic, and it might really have taken millions of years for God to create us. In fact, the Pope issued a statement a few years ago that evolution was a valid explanation of origins.
However, the Bible is explicit: God made Adam, and that ruler sinned, so God sent Jesus, the "last Adam", to be our Substitute, and He will re-create an Edenic earth and rule in Adam's place.

yes, fortunately if you are a Christian you need not to be uneducated, you can like learning and studying.
Just imagine, in Europe there are millions of Christians who don't have any problem with evolution. Actually in the US too, only they don't shout that loud..
In addition the pope doesn't have a problem with it either so that takes care of all catholics.
