Happiness is a butterfly, which, when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.The only source of happiness – and unhappiness – comes from inside yourself."Finding happiness is like finding yourself. You don't find happiness, you make happiness. You choose happiness. Self-actualization is a process of discovering who you are, who you want to be and paving the way to happiness by doing what brings YOU the most meaning and contentment to your life over the long run

I agree with comedian Denis Leery on this one. We always approach life as if happiness is something we'll eventually arrive at--like it's a Promised Land of sorts. It's not. Life is always going to be a collection of things--both good and bad. Happiness sneaks up on us from moment to moment. We can choose not to see it, or even feel disappointed when it's gone. Then we have no one to blame when we ARE unhappy! Happiness is a good meal. A good conversation. The love of good people. LOVING good people. Happiness is all around! The key--if there is one--to happiness is to learn to recognise it when you see it, and cherish it while it lasts.

That's my take on it, anyway.

Having Children, watching them grow. Knowing that when you lie on your death bed you can smile knowing you lead a good, honorable life and treated other with compassion.

Daily it is enjoying the simply things life has to offer. Like a walk in nature, good cup of coffee, laughing as much as possible, loving other people.

When I'm old and reflect upon my life, I want to feel good about HOW I lived my life in all aspects!

The key to happiness is internal peace. Without internal peace, one cannot be happy. You may experience pseudo-happiness which may be situationally dependent but at the core of your soul you are not content. If you can find that internal peace where you are at balance with your enviornment and your spiritual self then you can truly be happy. Bad things will happen but you will have the strength to deal with them.

My internal peace comes from God, knowing he loves me, looks out for me, and forgives me.
