My ABS light comes on and off. When i reach the end of my brake there is a loud clunking noise. I have recently had some rotor problems and I also purchased 2 brand new front tires and Im not sure if it started happening after I put the new tires on. The problem exist about 90 percent of the time. Im taking it to Nissan dealer on friday, just trying to get a feel as to what maybe wrong before i go to dealer.

Are the tires the exact size posted on the drivers door jamb? if not there may be a size mismatch and the VDC or traction control which is part of the ABS is causing weird things to happen. You might only need to replace two more tires. If VDC equipped turn the vdc off and see if the noise go's away. E-mail me you peaked my interest. Maxima 2004 / 2007 are just about bullet proof and we just don't have many problems with that car some shock absorber noise but almost no brake issues. E-mail me if necessary
