I'm only 13, and yeah, my skin's not perfect at all, but is it true that once you reach your late teens or early twenties, that the acne just kind of goes away?

This is a lie.

Some people have it so bad that it last their entire life.
Hopefully this is not you.

If you know that you have a history of acne in your family, you may want to go on antibiotics (which keep the inflammation down to a minimum). Or worse, accutane.

Accutane is now under strict regulation though b/c too many idiots killed themselves. Which is say, is complete bs b/c these people were depressed b/c of the acne, not the medication.

As you might well know, I've had to deal with this issue, and it's frustrating b/c there's no magic bullet that will get rid of the problem quickly and easy.

Hopefully, scientists will figure out a way to diagnose it using gene therapy, but that's at least 50 years away from now.

You're at the point in your teens where a lot of things may not be perfect, but in most cases acne will go away, and for most people it stops developing. One of the things that you could use that works great and quickly is Clearasil.

I'm 20 and I don't have acne anymore. I didn't have really bad acne in my teens but I had some... everyone does!

I think the acne does get better as you get older because your hormones aren't going crazy.

In a way. Your acne doesn't completely go away. You still need to wash your face and stuff. If you don't, you will see a couple of zits now and then but it won't be severe as it is in your teens and preteens.

no acne last your whole life I'm 37 and it is worse than when I was 15. I learned not to wash my face with bar soap.
I use nothing but hot water . this keeps the good bacteria on your face and prevents breakouts. but use a clean washcloth to get the dead skin off.
makeup is not so good for acne either.

The reason why so many teens get acne is that they are washing their face with tap water. Tap water is so contaminated. Tap water is recycled water purified with filters and other methods. But how can they purify water that is contaminated with blood? Blood is the only substance known to man that if you tryied to clean a stained wall or rug with bleach or and kind of detergent it forever remains behind! So if you wash your face with drinking water it will clear up for sure! i know because ive tested this theory with my brother and friends!

Mostly. Acne or pimples are usually a result of hormonal changes and an irregular and increased production of oil by the sebaceous glands. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

Not necessarily, a lot depends on genetics just use a good soap like oatmeal or lemon which will help clear out your acne and an oil free moisturizer.
