My husband is graduating from college soon and the letter that the school sent out said that no children under five should attend. The only people that I trust with my child are attending this function as well. Should I still consider taking my two year old anyway?

I guess we all say the same thing. TAKE YOUR CHILD!! I would call the college, speak to the president, dean, etc. or anyone that you can. Explain to them that you are not able to get a sitter and shouldn't be penalized for watching your husband graduate because they decided not to let children in. See what they say. If your husband is graduating for good, I would put up a bigger fuss. This is a once in a life time experience and you all should enjoy it. Just make sure you sit in the back of the room in case the little starts to fuss, bring things for him/her to play with to keep occupied.

Good luck.

The reason they ask for kids that age not to be brought are so they wontinterrupt the ceremonies.
Try to find someone else or maybe you might want to stay at home and have someone video tape it.
You can try taking your kid if you think they will be quiet but you may be asked to leave if the kid makes too much noise.
You can also talk to the Dean first.
