what are you on about, 7 controlers....
you can support 4 controlers on all the PS3 consoles, the only difference is that on the 80/60GB, it has 4 usb ports and on the 40GB you only have 2...
so the more usb ports you have, the more controlers you can charge at once....

It doesn't have any controller ports- the controllers are all wireless, so they don't have to plug into anything.
There are however 4 USB sockets on the front which you can use to charge the controllers' batteries.
You can use up to 7 different controllers with a single PS3 using bluetooth. I'm not sure why 7 though, seems a bit of a strange number.

THe 60 gig has the 4 usb ports in the front and 2 in the back and are only used to charge controllers and attach external media.... Since the controllers are bluetooth you can have up to seven controllers recognized on one PS3 system at one time being used for the same game no matter which you buy.
All ps3s allow up to 7 controllers to be active at one time with the bluetooth capability.

The 80,60,& 20Gb have 4 USB ports but the 40 Gig oly has 2 but u only need the ports to charge controllers and the PS3 can support 7 six axis controllers

It can connect up to 7 controllers but there's no games with up to 7 player matches in the same screen. 4 usb ports are used to charge the controllers.

60/80gb have 4 usb ports, 40gb have 2. But the controllers are wireless so that only matters if your charging, you can have max 7 players goin tho.

it has 4 USB ports on it wich are used to charge the wireless sixaxis controller(doesnt work with other controllers such as ps1 and ps2 unless you get an atachment)

the 80g 60g, and 20g have 4 in the front. the 40g only has 2 .. and everyone say you only need them for chaarging is lying .. if you wanna hook up a keyboard u can do it with a usb .. if you wanna connect the eye toy camera its by usb .. so make sure you take that into concideration .. and im sure they will make other accesories that use the usb ports as well
