It is largely accepted that the "flood" was the opening of the Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.
Making it a localised catastrophe.

While there may have been a flood, there was no Noah.
Many ancient cultures talk of a flood, and they occur all over the world, so that part may be true.
The biblical myth is based on the same root story as Gilgamesh's story of the flood. Noah is derived from the name Nuah, a Chaldean rain Goddess who was said to come down in the arc of the crescent moon to save the animals from the flood. The connection between Nuah and Noah was confirmed by an archaeological find in 1933.
1933. And yet people act as if the story is fact. What does this say about what does this say about education in this country?

I believe the flood was in the known world...the fertile crescent and surrounding areas.
I also believe in the fact that Noah and family were truly the only survivors.
WHY?
Well, in Chinese character writing the picture word for flood is a picture of 8 humans in a boat.
Same body count as th bible.
Through out the world, South America included there is an account of the great flood and a few Humans surviving.
I believe it is because all modern Humans are the descendants of Noah and family, and so Carry that story from Land to Land as they populated the earth.
So Original flood....KNOWN WORLD...at that time.
Reality is IT did HAPPEN and the story spread with the Human population!

Too many people have taken the Noah's Ark Story too literally. During the reign of Babylon, Hebrew priests and writers wanted to support their faith and keep the morale of their people high. The Noah's Ark Story is based off the annual floods that occured in the Middle East. During the rains, towns would be flooded, destroying property and causing chaos. The Hebrews wanted to explain to their people how disobeying God will cause Him to get angry, thus punishing the Hebrews.
I hope I helped...

Over all the world. The land was not divided yet at this time. All the land mass was together.
Genesis 10:25
And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
This was after the flood. The flood happened in chapter 7.

Definitely this was a global deluge, the like of which had never occurred before nor has since. “The waters overwhelmed the earth so greatly that all the tall mountains that were under the whole heavens came to be covered. Up to 15 cubits [c. 6.5 m; 22 ft] the waters overwhelmed them and the mountains became covered.” (Ge 7:19, 20)

At the time of Noah's flood (26,000 years ago) the earth was all one land, (read Rev 12:15-17) the only survivors lived in the Land of Nod, (Asia), they were born of the 2nd age. (Rev 12:6) Noah lived in the 4th age. The garden of Eden was of the 3rd age,(Rev 12:14) Dinosaurs lived in the 1st age (Rev 12:1-5). Abraham was of the 5th age (Rev 13:1-10)
Moses was also of the 5th age (Rev 13:11-18)
Revelation 14 and 15 is also of the 5th age, and it speaks of the time when Jesus (the Word of God) was cast down to the earth and walked among us.
Revelation 16, 17, and 18 is the 6th age, and is about us, those born before 1960 AD
The 7th age is Half-a-Time (980 years) and is the time of the unbelievers. it began 1960 AD and will end 2940 AD
Revelation 19 speaks of the time of the "Blessed" 2800 AD
(So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.) Gen 1:27
Male and female created he them, God made his image (man) male and female, not man and woman.,

In the Bible it says it was a Global Flood but that's impossible. I'm guessing the writer(s) of the Bible just embellished the story from a local flood.
