Y'all say he's a whiner....excuse me....wouldn't you be just a little bit upset if your favorite driver had 7 blown engines? Don't ya think that just might of been a real good reason he didn't make the chase?? Lighten up ....if ya don't like him, don't answer any questions about him. Very simple solution. Junior Nation Rocks!! His fan base is one of if not the biggest in NASCAR. Show a little sportsmanship here PLEASE??

Yup, especially when you take into account that, they don't like it when you throw facts at them. Like the guy above me who said something about being naive, blind , and uneducated. Sorry buddy I look the stuff I post up first and have a copy of the 2007 preview and press guide sitting next to the computer and I do look stuff up. As for bashing other drivers, I try not to do that(ok except Kyle Busch, but he's such an easy target), if I mention a driver in a post it's for comparison purposes only.

OK, gonna try to address this question point-by-point...

Yes, I am tired of the Jr. bashers, tired of the Gordon bashers, tired of the Busch bashers, etc. ad infinitum.

I never said he was a whiner personally.

I would be more than a LITTLE upset if my favorite driver had 7 blown engines.

7 Blown engines would be a good reason for anyone to miss the chase.

I think that the very nature of replying is showing sportsmanship.

Answers answered, now for my comment...

I am not a Jr. basher or a basher of anyone who would get behind the wheel of a machine that is capable of 190+ MPH speeds and competing against 42 other racers, anyone of which could cause you serious bodily harm or death at any moment by the slightest turn of a steering wheel. It takes a lot of nerve and skill to achieve the pinnacle of race car driving, and even more skill combined with luck to win the championship, which is where I come in conflict with the diehard Jr. fan.

While Jr. may be considered one of the top drivers in NASCAR, there is only one season that he managed to win more than 3 races, and that was back in 2004. Since then, he has only managed 2 wins, one in 2005, one in 2006.

I think alot of his popularity rests in his name. Dale Sr. was a dominating force up until his untimely death at Daytona. I also agree his fan base is one of the biggest in NASCAR, but, personally, I don't understand why. NO cup championships in nine seasons of racing. I am eager to see how he performs under the tent of Hendrick Racing, it will answer some questions for me as to his racing abilities, but as of yet in his career, I would have to be under the opinion that Dale Jr. is not the driver/performer his father was.

I hope he proves me wrong for the sake of all his fans.

Im sick of ALL the bashers period. A driver always expects to win and if they get wrecked or have bad luck they are going to be upset. Yet Tony Stewarts fans will say all other drivers are whiners while at the same time condone his behavior. Thats not to say ALL his fans, just the more vocal ones. And that doesnt mean fans of alot of the drivers out there aren't the same. Some people hear another driver complain and call it whining, until THIER driver does the same thing....then they just say he is being "Outspoken"

I don't think I've "bashed" Jr.. just given opinions.

But for those ppl that say you don't bash any driver.. or bashing is mean .. There's a difference in being pricks about it and it being all in good fun. I'm the only Gordon fan in the group of friends I have that watches Nascar. Most of them are Jr. fans or Stewart fans. I like Jr, but I still talk sh!t to them and we give each other hell back and forth. That doesn't mean that we're bashers of either driver. So sometimes that may be what's going on in YA and some people just take it too seriously.
I like to dish it out.. and being a Gordon fan, I can definitely take it.. But I don't take any of it seriously. Sometimes when people are serious, I don't even let that get to me.. because it's dumb. It's just someone's opinion. You get on the internet.. especially this place and start asking questions or stating your opinion on people and everyone is going to throw their two cents in, even if you say, "If you're just going to bash my driver, don't even respond to this question"...well hell... that's not going to change the fact that ppl are still going to do it. So my suggestion is to just let it roll right off.. and maybe lighten up and poke fun back. It's just a sport, and EVERYONE in EVERY sport does it. The fans sometimes whine more about ppl picking on their drivers than the actual drivers do about their sucky run at a track.

Any logical NASCAR fan does not disrespect Jr. He's shown that he can win races. And contend for the title. This year is a different story, but I don't think NASCAR fans need to be lectured by Jr Nation about anything that has to do with sportsmanship.

You say Jr Nation rocks - I say Jr Nation crossed the line when they decided to pelt Jeff Gordon with beer cans all those times. The backlash onto Jr is just from his fans showing the most despicable display of sportsmanship in the history of any sport.

Good question! I admit I poke jabs at some of the remarks made to some of the answers, but it's mostly to aggravate the fan not to bash the driver. I'm going to stop bashing all drivers. If you notice most of the bashing is against the popular drivers, JJ, Jr. and Gordon. Is it because they're in the spot light more? Most likely.

The Jr. Nation, can sure dish it out but can't seem to take it...all the garbage they have said about Jeff Gordon in the past and even now...but get their drawers in a bind when something is said about their boy...really put on a good show for all the world to see with the beer can throwing antics, would make the WWF proud..I will always support the #24 & #48 for their driving abilities..but with the Jr. nation being part of Hendricks now.,can sure count me out..which is no big loss, but Jr.and fans are going to destroy the good name and personalities of Hendricks Motor Sports...The good sportsmanship works both ways...

Haven't heard anything about JR whining too much. I am not a fan but do not have anything bad to say about him except he is a little overrated because of his father. I do believe he has horrible equipment and that has alot to do with it. We'll see when he comes to Hendick. There will always be haters on here. Everyone likes someone different and they will not always be liked. Even when he does come to Hendick and does good, people will still talk, look at Jimmie, people bash him all the time but he was the champion last year and possibly this year. GO 48!!

I agree with Slide! I do tend to ask and answer questions that irritate the fans of certain drivers. I respect all the drivers for being born with the talent I was not.
And I will always say that Dale Jr. has talent. Being the son of Dale Sr. was what gave him the chance to show that talent.
There are lots of good drivers that never got the breaks people like Dale Jr. got because they don't have a way in to show that talent!
Your not looking at this from the right prospective! If people are Bashing a driver it's mostly because their driver is not winning!
Please think about that!!

I agree with ya, but there is always gonna be bashing of someone. You have to admit, whether the attention is negative or positive, it is still attention. When was the last time somebody bashed Nemecheck, Schrader, or even Mike Wallace? See...they don't even get mentioned. Besides, next year, all will see what Jr. can do with equipment that will actually last for a whole race!

Go Jr.>>>>
