No.

We do not hate anyone. Hate is against our religion.

The Catholic Church seeks and supports the freedom of religion for all human beings.

In the Vatican II document, Declaration on Religious Freedom, Dignitatis Humanae (Human Dignity), the Church states:

The human person has a right to religious freedom. This freedom means that all men are to be immune from coercion on the part of individuals or of social groups and of any human power, in such wise that no one is to be forced to act in a manner contrary to his own beliefs, whether privately or publicly, whether alone or in association with others, within due limits.

For the entire document, see: http://www.vatican.va/archive/hist_councils/ii_vatican_council/documents/vat-ii_decl_19651207_dignitatis-humanae_en.html

With love in Christ.

I certainly don't. I have a bit of trouble with LDS theology, there's no sense denying that, but none (and I mean none) of the Mormons I've met have engaged me in doctrinal dialogue. To date, I haven't even had missionaries at my door. But all of my encounters with Mormons (those whose faith I was aware of, that is) -- from momentary acquaintance to decades-long friendships -- have been unfailingly pleasant and positive.

In fact, the ones who knew me longest and observed my major faith transition from Baptist to Roman Catholic were supportive of my "journey". I got one brief offer of a Book of Mormon, politely turned it down, and no more was said about it; that person is still my good friend.

Hate Mormons? Absolutely not. And I don't "hate" their religion, either, just disagree with it. I don't think any Mormon minds that I do; I certainly don't mind people disagreeing with the Catholic faith. What I do mind, and I'm assuming Mormons do too, is being lectured about how wrong my faith is and how "unsaved" I am -- with an entire laundry list of accusations trotted out against my faith at every mention of the word "Catholic".

Those who claim to "love" someone whose faith they trash, and openly say they hate, are attacking me just as surely as they attack my Church. There is no way I would turn around and do the same thing to a Mormon. Mutual respect does not require that we embrace each other's beliefs ... just each other.

I love Mormons but i find their religion literally incredible and cut-and-paste from all sorts of sources. If I were attracted to polytheism or henotheism i would go Hindu or to a more credentialed multigod religion with more exciting and public rituals before I'd go Mormon.

There is,I find, much to respect in their religion but it is alien from any form of historic Christianity. LDS Mormonism is a form of "Neo-ChristoGnosticism". Evolving from human into gods, multiple gods, F,S &HS as 3 separate gods, eternally progressing gods and others, lack of worship of the Ultimate creator and Uncaused Cause and other LDs doctrines put Mormonism in another religious category other tha n
Christian, otherwise, the term Christian can mean anything anyone wants to make it mean.

Many Mormons i know are very anti Catholic and believe all sorts of nonsense( that they got from their remote revivalist Protestant background) about Catholicism which they could clear up by visiting Catholic apologetic sites.

I've been told that i am a part of the"great and Abominable Church" from the Book of Nephi because I am Catholic. Of course, many Mormons believe that all Christians are "apostate" and that the Gates of hell actually did prevail and jesus had to come back. So much for Jesus 'promises like "Lo, I am with you until the end of the World".

Actually,Catholics tend to be respectful to Mormons but do not want another religion shoved in their faces. I like visits from Mormon missionaries because i get to share my faith with them and answer questions about Catholicism that they may have. However, if they cannot accept, read and discuss books from other religions which are older and have better credentials, mormons should not expect people of other religions to read their materials.

Mormonism is culturally Protestant but theologically it is in its own 'world religion" category.

No we do not hate the mormons. We cannot hate anyone. It is against our religion to hate anyone. Hate is a luxury we cannot afford. We can only hate sin and evil. We can only hate the evil one and satan. But we love all people because all people are our brothers and sisters in Christ. God is our Father so all people are our brothers and sisters. We may have differing views and beliefs but God wants all of us to be saved so we pray and love all people. So we love all people no matter what their race and creed or color, etc. is. We even are commanded to love our enemies so we love even those who don't love us and we love those who do not love God. We also pray that all people go to heaven so that all can be happy with God in heaven someday. This is the universality and authenticity of the one, true, catholic and apostolic church.

My Catholic friends tell me that they love me...So I take them at their word.

EDIT: Yeah, I am sorry that people have said the whole Great and Abominable Church thing...that's really not nice. Most of the Catholics I know are wonderful people. In fact, some of the sweetest and most heartfelt prayers offered on my behalf were from Catholics. In fact, my Catholic grandmother paid for a mass to be said for my husband's safety while he was in Iraq. I will always be touched by that particular gesture, it was so lovely.

I hope you don't mind me answering as this seems to be aimed at Catholics. I hope not because I like the Catholics. My boss is Catholic and one of the nicest people I know.

I wouldn't say hate but we definitely have our differences. The Mormons go around house to house and they have told me that they just "love" to get their hands on Catholics and to me this is like Herod's soldiers going from house to house killing the innocent.

Individual Catholics probably have individual views, but last I heard the "Catholic Church" still lists Morman as a cult, and there for "Bad"
