I got contact lenses last week but I also have a pinguecula. The pinguecula a very small not too noticable. The optometrist said that my lenes will sit slighlty off centre because of it.
I want to know if the pinguecula will get any bigger if the lens rubs it or irritates it?
Has anyone had the surgery for pinguecula removal in Australia? What was the cost?
Does anyone else with a pinguecula wear contact lenses?

Don't know what pinguecula is check this outhttp://www.dcareaeyecare.com/pinguecula_article.html

Pinguecula Contact Lenses

The average pinguecula is not a problem with most soft lenses.
With daily and monthly lenses there is not much choice of diameter available but, if there is irritation due to the edge of the contact lens, the answer is to fit a smaller or bigger one so that the edge of the contact lens is either short of or overlaps the sensitive spot. This may need more expensive lenses, but is perfectly practical.

Surgery should be kept in reserve, unless lenses really cannot be fitted.

well by the site you gave us, i dont think the contacts will affect your vision. if you read the part where it says the causes of pinguecula, it says it does not affect vision. and that means it is not over your retina. contacts go over your retina. but it depends on where your bump is. if the contact is rubbing your "bump" and it hurts i would see your optometrist. but if the "bump" is in the white are of your eye like in the picture of the site you gave us, i wouldnt worry. cause the contact will stay over your retina (unless you rub your eyes! dont do that, or else the contact could rub on your bump and cause irratation. otherwise enjoy the contacts, i just got mine about a week ago too lol.

-Hope i helped, Anthony

Yes and there is no problems, just that your coloured lens will make your eyes look funny.
