as weird as that sounds, my mom and i noticed it and she's been licking herself there for a few days now. this is my first experience raising a lab and just want to make sure that she stays crated if this is her time to be in heat.

she will start bleeding when the swelling stops. it will last around 10 days more or less.keep a close watch because all the males will be over.you can cut a hole for her tail on a large baby diaper and put a pad inside to keep your house clean then remove it so she can do her job and apply a clean one when she is done. you will save on a lot of scrubbing as i found out when a little stray beagle was dropped off a few yrs ago. they usuerally go into heat twice a yr so get her spayed and you won't have to worry about unexpected pups. good luck

She is in heat, it'll last about 21 days. Keep her away from male dogs & make a appointment to get her spayed. For now get some doggie panties, to keep the blood off of the carpet & furniture.

Well but any cloth or blanket in the cage if she is really in heat blood with drip.It's ble!But my dog was in heat once.If her belly is swollen check the vet to see.

She will start being extra affectionate with you and may start dropping spots of blood. From what you say, it's started already.
