The word Christian is used three times in New Testament (Acts 11:26; Acts 26:28; 1 Peter 4:16). Followers of Jesus Christ were first called “Christians” in Antioch (Acts 11:26) because their behavior, activity, and speech were like Christ. It was originally used by the unsaved people of Antioch as a kind of contemptuous nickname used to make fun of the Christians. It literally means, “belonging to the party of Christ” or an “adherent or follower of Christ".

"ian" at the end of the word means "in the likeness of" ie, Canadian - someone from Canada with Canadian ways.

In the case of Christian, it would be one who adheres to or who does their best in trying to adhere to Christ s ways and teachings. For example. One who objects to all paganism, like Christmas and Easter etc, rejects all immorality not just sexual. Would celebrate only what Jesus taught his disciples to celebrate, the Memorial of his death. That was on Nissan 14, which falls on the first full moon after the spring equinox every year.

The best example of a Christian I know of today as a group would be Jehovah s Witnesses. However you would have to examine them as a group to prove that for yourselves, after all who am I to say. I too am trying to be like Christian and it is hard to be humble.

The suffix -ian is used to creat adjectives from mostly Latin nouns. It denotes either coming from or belonging to. So the use of the word Christian would mean someone that comes from Christ or belonging to Christ.
