Congrats on being accepted, to raise that kind of money though you probably will need to find some part work on Saturdays and with Holidays coming up you should be able to. Also try to find some businesses that will sponser you as you can be a walking and talking advertisement for them. Talk to your Chamber of Commerce as they might be able to Help. Lions club and Rotary clubs can also help. People to People to website will have some ideas to. Good luck and I pray you get to go.

My ocreshtra group started a fundrainser yesterday and already raised like $60. People can give you personal donations- that's how we are raising money, and we are getting alot of money already. Last year, the ocrestra had a candy fundraiser, and they only raised $300, when the band did a fundraiser of donating, and the band got $1200 last year. I already raised $35 in 2 days.

Good Luck

Hello,
Congratulations on being chosen for this program, my son was also chosen and will go to Italy, France and Greece.
The People to People site has some ideas for fund raising, you can also contact PTP Alumni and ask them for suggestions. One suggestion is collecting recyclables from your neighbors and friends and family. One boy raised $500.00 doing that which helps in one of the payments!
You can also do candle fundraiser or candy ( Christmas is coming so good time to do candy ones or candles) I to am looking for ideas for fund raising and some of those I have come up with so far. Also on PTP site there are sample letters to send out as sponsorship letters to friends and family and another kind for business.. check those out! PTP also has a community site where you can connect with other PTP Student Ambassadors who may have ideas.. oh another is make a basket.. raffle it off or do a spaghetti feed!
I hope this helps.. and enjoy your journey , for this is a life time experience !
Blessings in Christ ,
Shannon

try getting some friends and family memebers to help out with like a car wash...well it would have to be a few of em...also try doing bake sales or if you go to church see if your youth group or your church will either donate some $ or see if they can help you raise some money...try working for people, like a cleaning service on the weekends or a few hours a day or soemthing~ clean windows, mop/sweep, vaccuum, babysit, run errunds for elderly. hope this helps! good luck and congrats!

See if local businesses will help to sponsor your trip. Talk a local newspaper into doing an article about you and thank all the businesses in the article. You will give them some publicity for their generosity.

Good luck!
