As it is written in Matthew 11:19:
The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!'

Similarly, do you think that if Jesus came today and hung out with the rebels and sinners in the world, eating and drinking alcohol with them, that many “Christians” would judge and condemn Him, mistaking Him as a “sinner” and a “blasphemer”?

Ah the wonderful arrogance of man. Yep, I think some Christians would NOT recognize him or even turn away from him...especially the ones that think that they are somehow more worthy of his attention than others.

This verse reminds me of another one in Luke...something about the message seems consistent. Luke 18: 9-14...

To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men..robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner'. I tell you that this man, rather than the other went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted"

I know people that call themselves Christians who somehow think that they are better, more worthy, than others to receive the Lord's favor. Those are the ones that would most likely reject Jesus if he spent his time with "sinners" instead of with them. How many Pharisees refused to accept Jesus the first time he walked on earth because he associated with people they shunned, because he didn't behave the way they behaved, because he didn't brag about his good works. I don't think human nature has changed all that much.

The passage doesn't mean that Jesus had drank and "hung out" with the sinners. The reason Jesus chose to eat with the sinners and the taxers, was because He had wanted to portray a different picture. Knowing the pharisees hearts, their hypocrisy, He wanted to show that everyone is the same, no higher or lower status. As written in another passage of the Bible, the sick go to the doctor not the healthy right? The pharisees knew the Bible, the tax collectors didn't.
And yes, people today would probably act the same way. People would probably create the same mistake, however why do you think Jesus would "hang out" with the sinners in the first place?

Given what is written in the Bible, IF an individual on Earth today went around Calling himself Jesus or the Christ, even though he be performing Powerful works like curing the sick and making the Lame walk, I would Recognize that as Works of the Devil.( Matt 7:21-23).

Who would believe someone who made the claim? They are on every street corner proclaiming the truth. Most people get out of the way or cross the street.

What miracles would he have to do? Scientists would love assistance.

Just imagine someone knocking on your door telling you he or maybe she was the risen Jesus, would you let him in for dinner? Or maybe you are walking down the street and someone comes along and tells you to leave all your relatives and follow him or her, take nothing with you, just go along? What would you say to this person?

Now common sense should kick in here. It would be a pretty difficult situation. No one ever thinks of it. They are all waiting for some rapture, where the clouds will open up and someone comes down, battles some one - defeats him or it - sends down fire and whatever, and all the dead people pop out of their graves {now that would be sight - a bunch of bones getting up and walking-sounds like science fiction], along with those who are still alive - and they rise up into the [?] clouds. Now I really have to say - think about it - does that sound even slightly feasible?

Good Question... But I would have to say that any true bible believing Christian would probably assume that anyone claiming to be Jesus who was eating and drinking with rebels and drunks was not the true Jesus and was indeed some sort of antichrist, as the true Jesus will be returning only to take his believers to heaven during the rapture.

No, i don't think so. People today r more busy than to watch others. And many true Christians r among sinners just to teach them about Jesus. I was one of them.

Good Luck!!!

If He didn't dress a certain way, or have a certain look, he wouldn't be acknowledged. Jesus suffered this flesh and
all the things associated with our flesh. He didn't come as a "good lookin'" feller; Isa 53:2, "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground:::::: HE HATH NO FORM NOR COMELINESS; and when we shall see him, THERE IS NO BEAUTY THAT WE SHOULD DESIRE HIM". Yes, Jesus suffered it ALL for us. This is why they mocked him when they put the rob upon him and the crown of thorns; he didn't look like a king. He is the KING of kings, and Lord of lords.

PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME, JESUS.

They would be the ones building a cross.

They would not recognize him because Christianity as it is currently being practiced is a polar opposite of what Jesus taught.

Jesus was the original liberal.

it type of feels greater possibly to me that he meant all human beings. He spoke to all human beings, he used worldly human beings in his parables. He ate with and touched human beings he grow to check to ward off. He informed Peter at John 21:17 to feed his little sheep. those are those that pay attention to his voice and stick to him. that would not recommend you will possibly desire to hearken to what somebody tells you to do basically because of the fact he/she claims to be a Christian. Proverbs 29:25. Matt 15:9 and Acts 5:29 says stick to God extremely then adult adult males. What you're saying is that it is not significant how non-Christians are taken care of because of the fact Jesus basically had to assist Christians, is it not authentic? properly, I disagree. i think of Jesus lined all human beings.
