I have to write a letter to a soldier in Iraq to comfort him/her . It's a school assignment, and I have no idea what to write. Can I have some examples...???
Thanks!

WOW
start by introducing yourself
then tell something about yourself
tell him/her how proud you are to be writing to a soldier in Iraq.
ask questions
tell them about your school assignment (you can leave out the part about comforting them) and tell them what you think about the war there.
tell them what is going on in your home town
just plain old talk is all they want from us here...just what is going on and all...nothing fancy...something personal

Why don't you just write what you feel. Mention something about yourself, what is around you. Say that you are proud for what they are doing. I know that it is hard because you don't know the person. Do you know if you are writing to a woman or a man? Send a humorous card instead if you can with a note. Draw a picture if you can draw make it of the mountains or the ocean. Remind them of who they are fighting for which is humanity. Just show compassion when you write the letter.

That you appreciate what they're doing for America and the people of Iraq and that you'll pray that they arrive home safely. Also mention that you know what they are doing over there won't be in vain because this war is helping to build schools for Iraqi children (probably your age) and you know that those children will appreciate it. Do some research on the good things that have happened for Iraq because of our soldiers, and thank him for being so brave.

thank them for their service and personal sacrifice to their country. Tell them that you're rooting for them. Tell them that while it may be that the main stream media is losing the war you're glad to know that the men in uniform are winning it. Send them a personal invitation to be the guest of honor at a dinner or special event when they return. All these guys need to know is that we really do support them and we're proud of their achievements. Let them know that. Having been in their position I know that if I would have gotten a letter from a school kid supporting me I'd still have it in my personal effects and it would be a treasure in my little stash of keepsakes from my time in the military. Also tell them a little about yourself. Something that you are proud of because they'll be that much more proud to have gotten a letter from some one like you!

My brother is in Iraq and he loves to just hear about what we are doing as a family, funny things that our pets do, what my daughters are doing with their friends, what's going on in our town etc. Tell the soldier about yourself so that he/she knows what he/she's fighting for. Tell the soldier thanks for everything they do and for making the choice to be a soldier, (because they are choosing to be there and in the military to protect us and so that you don't have to be) and that you hope they will continue to have a safe deployment. That's it!

ill tell you from experience. the more you put your heart and soul into the letter, the more he will appreciate it. these letters usually go to soldiers who dont really get a lot of mail from home. it may noy seem like a big deal, but pretend you are away from home for 12 months with no contact with your loved ones. tell him about your family, tell him about school. anything you say, he will be greatful somebody is thinking of him. but most mportant make sure it comes from the heart.

I dont think I could write in words the things I would like to tell them but I guess I would start out by telling them how much I appreciate them and love them without even knowing them. They truelly give everything they have and sometimes they dont make it home. I cant even explain the gratitude

My friend has asked me to write to her bf while he was in Iraq and I also had no clue.

Anyway she had just said to write to him like you were writing to a friend. So.....just regular questions...how are you doing? How are things out there? etc...

Also let him know that we are supporting the troops that are out there...etc....That you wish him the best....etc....

Not really sure.. Hope that helps at least a little.
