Why indeed? *sip* Oh Nolte, it is grape fermenting season down here, and the raki (grappa) we are making is 56 proof, can't guzzle. One more week and we are done thank God. We have produced nine HUGE barrels of the stuff, and my in laws are worried it won't last them through the year! We have certainly drunk half a barrel while hanging out and making the drink!

Why do Christians divorce at a rate the same as atheists? Don't they have a "What god has joined together let no man put asunder'?

My wife and I simply agreed to love respect and care for each other all out lives. No supernatural oversight required.

So far, so good.

Love. 'Legitimate' children. Legal and monetary reasons; taxes, buying a house, medical decisions especially if their family has issues with their beliefs (or lack thereof I should say) or decisions made by them in say an advanced directive, will, etc.
If we're drinking I like Russian lemonade. Cheers!

If you look at marriage as a monogamous relationship, then religion has no bearing. Religion is NOT what marriage is about. In fact, religious people have a 55% divorce rate....Hmmm!
