Down here in fla., it has been 2 years since we had a hurricane.
Damn you Al Gore for lying to me. You promised me more and greater hurricanes.
Global warming preachers have an answer if it does, and an answer if it doesn't. It's a perfect political position if you think about it. A cause you can spend your whole life fighting, and never have to prove a thing.

No hurricanes? Where are you from? There have been at least 7 hurricanes combined in the Atlantic Ocean in the Gulf of Mexico this year alone. There were 6 last year for the same area. See the links below for specifics on Pacific Hurricanes.
I kinda agree that man may have a part in it, but I believe more that the Earth is coming back to claim her own. Hmmm, wonder where all those dinosaurs went? A result of Global Warming? You be the judge. Cheers!

As the earth warms, more moisture stays in the atmosphere because it's too warm for the water vapor to condense back into a liquid. The drought in the southeast is proof of this and the lack of hurricanes is too. Since there is a large amount of moisture in the atmosphere, any storms that form (including hurricanes) will be a lot stronger and more violent, but less frequent (for now).

There were hurricanes last year, but none hit land as hurricanes.
This year, there have been four hurricanes, two of which hit Mexico--that's land, last time I checked--as Category 5 storms. And while it didn't reach hurricane strength, there was just Tropical Storm Noel pounding the Caribbean.
And to put it in perspective, Katrina and Rita were category 4 storms when they came ashore.

Your data on hurricanes is really bad.
In 2007 two category 5s made landfall, Dean and Felix. That's NEVER happened before.
Dean killed more than 40 people and caused 2 billion dollars in damage. Felix killed more than 200.
Maybe you're wrong about global warming, too?
"Only in 2005 have more than two category 5 storms formed, and only in 2007 has more than one made landfall at category 5 strength."

OOOHH!! The number two too big for you?? the hurricans can take a break, ya know. The earth is a billion years old. Two years is like the smallest of the small compared to the Earths life.

What is it with your denial? Do you feel personally responsible for global warming? Are you hoping that if you ignore it, it will go away? Or are you only getting your information from conservative talk show hosts?
And I think that Mexico would argue about not having any hurricanes this year.

Your question is very poignant. But, my guess is the "Global Models" will be tweaked again in order to produce the result that global warming will result in reduced hurricanes. This way, they can go around saying they are right. That's what they do now with their models. They tweak them in order to have CO2 be a primary driver of temperature. Then, they yell that CO2 is a primary driver of temperature. As a wise cartoon character once said, "What a bunch of maroons!"

True, true and more true. Weather predicting
is more guesswork than anything. Anything
past 3 days is a guess. 50 percent. You and
I can do that.
ps Bill you have done nothing but turn people
off today, maybe you ought to stick to foxes.

Hey as long as it gets people to use alternative energy so my kids and grand kids have a chance in the future to breath its OK with me . So you do your little pee pee dance and complain about people who are concerned about the future if you wish that's up to you . Just stay out of the way of intelligent people and let them do there thing to.
