Any recommendations? I'd like one that shows you how to play the scales and has the fingering chart in it.

Essential Elements is what I've used. I have played for 11 years now and started when I was young so I am not sure if they are around anymore. They are progressive. Once you finish the first you can go get the level two book. All the notes are written like normal notes except they have the number finger inside of the note so you get used to reading the notes as well as learning the corresponding position. It really helped me advance quickly.

My favorite is "Begin With Pieces" by Wallingford Riegger, which was published by G. Schirmer.
It contains lovely piano accompaniments for everything, even the scales.
It never got the recognition it deserved, so I wish you good luck in finding it.
If you're interested, I'll beam over some pages from the book.
