The knot will smooth out in time.

Sometimes they don't do a great job cosmetically, but as long as the incision is not red, swollen or oozing (i.e., infected), they did a good job.

No, it's completely normal, don't worry about it. Surgery cuts open layers of muscle, and the stitches help hold the layers back together till they can fuse again. This leaves thinks a little lumpy and hard, but the edges end up blending in ok once the body starts to reabsorb the excess.

It'll take maybe 2 months, but after that the area that the stitches were in will feel just like everywhere else on the cat.

The vet did it right. This is normal.

Kitty is probable ok, so are not getting all panicky. If its' been 5 days already the stitches could be waiting to fall off or could be necessary to be bumped off via vet. it definitely relies upon on what variety of stitches the vet used. There probable would be particularly a lump there by way of surgical treatment. That little lump will disappear while it healed up. supply vet a decision and notice what he/she has to assert and what you need to do. that's probable time to take stitches out besides. Vet will probable choose to make certain kitty. that's probable time for a re-examine anyhow.

It sounds like the vet was sloppy with the stitching. If there is no new swelling or redness don't worry, cats are tough. My sister is one of the better vets in this part of the country and her stitch marks disappear completely but I have seen some sloppy jobs. They don't effect the animal as they are not vain.

After I got my stitches out (my own personal experience) the skin was a little bit bumpy and knotted. I'd have to say the same for the cat. It won't last for long, it's just the skin was kind of pinched together and it'll even out.
