A king is a king whether or not he has a castle. It is a poor king who cannot claim his right without the outer trappings of a king like a castle or a crown.

A God is a god with or without a church (meaning spiritual church not a physical building) or temple or even one worshiper. If a god cannot exist without a church then is it really a god?

The church is God's home just like the castle is a King's home.
And all the people in the church are God's children.
Although God is out and about just like his children are.
His children come to the church to praise him and spend time with him. That is the only time some of them spend with him. Though he is with them all the time, they just ignore it. Kind of like a parent being ignored by their children.

God has more churches than kings castles, but He doesn't live in any of them. We need them more than He does.

A church is a place to worship God, a castle is a home for a king they are not relative.

A statue or shrine to a king would be likened unto a church.

God has no needs of which we know.

The Church is the assembly of the People that God has called together from the ends of the earth.

In Catholic usage, the word "Church" has three inseparable meanings:
+ The People that God gathers in the whole world
+ The local church (diocese)
+ The liturgical (above all Eucharistic) assembly

The Church draws her life from the Word and the Body of Christ, and so herself becomes Christ's Body.

In the Nicene Creed (from 325 A.D.), the Church is professed to be one, holy, catholic, and apostolic.

A church is a building where the Church comes together to worship God.

With love in Christ.

Yeah, And We Defiled It, Sold in it, Spoke Lies in It, Robbed the Widows & Fatherless in it, Sacrificed Christ's Virgins Upon an Alter of Beastly Witnesses in It, in This Castle-Church the King of Kings and Lord of Lords has Had his Supper Partaken With Dogs & False Prophets Who Come on Behalf of The King Bringing a Message of LIES, Wars, The GOD who walks up and down these church Cathedrals Has LISTENED to His Word "The Holy Bible" being spoke of in 50 different translations from what he Originally said (KJV). The KING who Sends a Message such as " We are in a state of Emergency, loiters are placing whole towns in panic & chaos" Will You, in His CASTLE re-state it back as "Whole Towns are allowing Loitering to go on"?
GOD does Not need a CASTLE. And as Far as the Churches in the Land, The Temples in the Bible that were Built for God, Made out of Gold and Precious Stones would put them to shame. GOD has the Ability to Go Where He wants, He Could build Himself a CASTLE if he so wanted. But as another person was saying, YOU might poison him, why do You think he is Particular who he Visits? Your KING can have his CASTLE. EAT in it, DRUNKARD in it, DEFILE women and Ravage them in it, and STUFF his Face with all the Food he wants. GOD ' s Address will Remain Unknown, and HE will CALL you When he is Ready.

When I was a Roman Catholic the only Homily I heard that ever meant anything to me was when the Priest asked us to think of what the Church was. He noted after a few seconds most of us had looked about the building we were in and told us we were wrong, the "Church" is the people who gather in the name of God. God promised us salvation when he put enmity between the Woman and the snake and said her offspring would crush him, the Church is how he fulfills his promise to bring us the Gospel and the word.

since when was church for God's benefit?

church is a way for humans to get in touch with God. It is for our benefit, if you consider God to be a plus in our everyday lives

just the same, the castle is mostly for the peoples' benefit. afteerall, the nation would be pretty lame if their king sat on a wooden chair in the middle of a field, not to mention their one leader would be vunerable to all attacks.

I think it's the congregation that needs the church, rather than their God. Maybe they can't stand the distractions of glorious reality. And perhaps it's reassuring to huddle in a congregation of presumed shared beliefs, in a building giving those beliefs some sense of grandeur, listening to a priest telling you what they are. Besides, I suppose it keeps the rain out - which obviously wouldn't matter to a God, would it.
