Or do you believe in it at all?

"The word stigmata comes from the Greek term stigma, which means "mark." In Christianity, it is believed that some people develop wounds supernaturally, which are just like those received by Jesus when he was crucified: wounds on each hand, one on the side, and one both ankles. It is believed that these marks are signs from God that the person suffering from them is holy. Saint Francis, founder of the Franciscan order of monks, is the first person recorded to have shown stigmata. "

The Bible says nothing about stigmata or even mentions the concept of stigmata. satan knows the Scriptures and the Word of God and it is through this that he can decieve the most faithful to God. The Roman Catholic Church is a perfect example of a representation of satan.

No.
I believe it is a Satanic deception.
I think Francis started out right, but came under the power of deception.
Not at all uncommon for even very spiritual men to be deceived.
Some of God's choice servants of the last 100 years who operated in the supernatural power of God came under the delusion they were Elijah.
Consider John the Baptist having doubts about Jesus in the last days of his earthly life.
Satan is a very dangerous adversary, and he targets those who are his greatest threat.
The fear of the Lord is indeed the first principle of wisdom.

The stigmata is nothing to believe in, it is a fact. Usually or always the person is a holy person and very close to God. It is certainly a gift from God but I don't know if any human knows why God chooses to give the stigmata to some Holy people and not others.

To call this the work of Satan is to malign the works of the Holy Spirit. This is an example of the unforgivable sin. The person above me will get a nasty surprise at the pearly gates. Satan does NOT want people to remember Christ's wounds whatsoever. He will try to cover up every story about them. That's why there is so much confusion and disbelief about them. Or that people claim they are self-inflicted. This is not so. All these things are thoroughly investigated by the church using stringent methods.

I know it happens to people many have had these wounds supernaturally, imitating the wounds Jesus received, and although as you said, it is widely believed that these marks are signs from God, I do not believe they are, because not only are these marks not explained in God's Word the Bible, what purpose would there be for God to give such signs? After all we are to walk by faith not by sight, the True God does not have a need to prove himself, but the god of this world has much to gain by misleading people away from he true God(namely worship for himself).(2Corinthians4:4)

If someone truly had supernatural wounds appear on their body, like these hoaxers claim...

Don't you think that would be the biggest news story on the planet, and would supercede every conversation, broadcast, and newspaper article in the world, until pretty much the end of time?

You see, that hasn't happened, because stigmata is a hoax.

Believe it if you like, but the sane folks in the world prefer to believe in factual events.

Edit- Hopefully, now you do. It's really rather simple.

Yes, and Paul may have been the first person to be recorded of having them though it is unclear.

Finally, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.

Stigmata. It is a definate enigma. I don't have much information on it. I have read a few things but I am going to have to say the jury is still out on it.
