I have noticed that many answers in the Religion section receive high numbers of thumbs down and in equal porportion to their contacts, I also notice on the same question other groups of contacts have proprotionately the same number of thumbs downs. I have also read some finger pointed from one set of contacts against the others about their habit of just thumbing down because of who the answerer is not because of their actual answer's truthfulness to the question.

So do you or have you block voted and if so why?
If not, what do you think of the practice?

this is open to all and I'm against it to block someone, I just had a contact ask me not to contact her or reply to her questions anymore, WOW! Some people just want to try to gain a control of yahoo answers.

I think it is a cheap way out....in any hot debate, abortion, homosexuality, religion, politics, stand on your own two feet! I DO....I could careless I have my opinions and I hate to have something rammed down my throat, I have friends who are atheists, gay, black, etc...but they DONT CONSTANTLY slam me with their views either....I state how I feel and leave it at that.....

it is so obvious though when someone is lying and "pretending" for one thing doesn't anyone else notice these stock photos on Avatars? PuuuuLLLLEAAsssseeee....why do people have to try and be someone else....anyone can come to my house and look me straight in the face....I don't care....I just gotta say there are many who need to grow up....

Are you talking about voting for Best Answer? If so, your name & avatar is not posted when the question goes into voting. So how would your contacts know which answer was yours? I don't even know which answer I gave most of the time.

When it comes to thumbs up/down, I don't always agree with my contacts. And most likely visa/versa.

IMHO---------there isn't anything to be gained from the thumbs up or down and the points are pretty useless, so I don't know why there would be "block voting". 10 thumbs down won't change my opinion on anything and I doubt it would change anyone elses.

I don't think there is a vast consipracy out there...................and if there is why the heck wasn't I invited!!

The thumbs down have absolutely no consequence on anything, other than the ego of the author, so it would be quite pointless to have an orchestrated "thumbs down" campaign.

in order to do something like that , we would have to know who is giving the thumbs down ... we would have to be communicating
and at the speed of these questions in this section ... I am not sure that would even be possible

Most of them have been deleted and retain no voting rights.
