As you may have gathered from the title, I scored in the 82 percentile. I got a 118 on the GT portion of my ASVAB. My recruiter told me I could basically get any job, but I want infantry. Is there any chance of getting an Airborne Slot in my contract with a moral waiver. He says he is sure he can get me a slot. I don't think there is a chance in getting Ranger in my contract with a moral waiver, but is it possible? I was a minor, and its been a few years. I don't think Ranger is possible, but is Airborne with a moral waiver possible. Thanks and God Bless.

yea, airborne ranger is an EASY one to get....
but even if you dont... not to worry....
make sure you get airborne in your contract. when you arrive at airborne school they will ask "who wants to go to RIP" which is the program that gets you into the regiment.
you would be surprised the number of people in the 75th who have gt scores like yours. very common.
i got a morale waiver and also airborne in my contract, and now im doing very nicely and in a position i never expected to be in. I had no problems with security clearances or anything.
good luck, getting into the 75th isnt the tough part....

A waiver has no bearing on anything. If the offense is serious enough to effect a security clearance then that matters, but not that you have a waiver. With a 118 you should ask for SF. That way you'll get infantry and airborne for sure. Good luck!

You beat me by two points. You can do anything you want. Airborne is easy enough. Your recruiter just has to pick a class date since Airborne is always in high demand. Ranger school may be a little harder. You need to qualify physically and be able to swim and also have a very high endurance. Many get into the school, but few graduate. . .
You can do anything you want to do, though. Even apply for Airborne and Ranger school after AIT through your unit. Being in Infantry, you will have first dibs and priority anyway. My recruiter wanted to push me into intelligence or admin, but I wanted ARTILLERY!!!!, and so that is what I signed for. Today, I am an accountant, investment adviser representative, and an MBA, but I am very pleased with my service as a missile maggot and gunner.
Thanks for joining and God bless you, the Armed Forces and all who serve!

You beat me by 3 points. I tried to enlist as a cook. Stop laughing, it was the family business. Lot's of eateries. The recruiters Dad owned a local restaurant so he took me to lunch there to have the guy talk me out of it. He knew my Grandfather and one of my Uncles, played up the downsides etc.
My point is that the recruiter did not want to push any low hanging fruit. You might get pulled aside to take an OCS test. 3 of us did in basic. If this guy is willing to help with combat arms he might just be a good guy trying to help you instead of himself. If offered the OCS test I suggest not turning it down. Bars come in handy after you are out.
Good Luck

You could easily get Airborne, do one thing at a time or else your going to be overwelmed and crash quick. Spend a few years in the Army then ask for Ranger

depends on what "it" is. with that score and a good pt score you very well could be an Airborne Ranger.

They can waive most things if they want to and they need people now, esp. people willing to go combat arms. I can't say for sure, I just don't know, but thanks for signing up.
