wheres our guarantee that we'll like it? can we opt out once we get there? i mean, if some were there and were discontent, clearly heaven isn't for everyone, right?

I think what it boils down to is, the people who made up that story just weren't that good at telling stories.

The truth is that Lucifer DID indeed like it. The reason he got kicked out was because he was trying to take God's place and run the show. If you go to heaven, you won't want to leave once you get there. Your only alternative to heaven is hell. That's a no-brainer! Heaven is the only way. Hell is so bad that it was only created for Lucifer and his dark angels. If a human goes to hell, he goes as an intruder...because it's so tormenting that humankind can't stand it. But unfortunately, some stubborn people will not accept the way which Jesus made for us, so they will spend eternity in hell, a place which was never created for man.

You didn't really read the story did you. "Lucifer" loved "Heaven" and was cast out by "God" the father because he misbehaved in ways not becomming a child of "God". There is no Heaven and no Hell...They are symbolic of the path you or I take in the PRESENT...here and now. Follow a path of peace, respect, and love and your reward will be a HEAVEN on Earth...follow a path of desecration, disrespect, and hatred and you'll have a HELLISH life on Earth. It's plain as that. Lucifer did like it. I do not know where you got the idea that Lucifer not like Heaven. It is not Biblical. Lucifer loved Heaven. Lucifer got kicked out because he wanted to be God.

Free will. The next time God's will be done because we do not have free will anymore then. Perfect harmony does not exist with the free will. You would think that all people and angels would choose to do what is right, but things can get very wrong.

It wasn't that Lucifer didn't like it, it's just that he didn't like the way it was being ran, and believed that he was smarter than God. So he got the boot.

The bible puts it quite clear that he became arrogant and decided he wanted everyone to worship him and not God and that is why God expelled him from the heavens.
