My husband had surgery to remove his prostate last April, because of prostate cancer. He was lucky, it didn't spread. He came home early today complaining of his side hurting and a stomache, and being freezing. My sister took him to the doctor, but I AM SCARED. What could be wrong?????? Or am i just overeacting?????

yo Kayla... not to worry unless this side discomfort lasts for more than five days or there is sweating while having the chills ( flu )... as for your concerns you can cross off prostate cancer recurrence as causing these aches and pains~~~

You have to trust that he has healed from the prostate surgury. Would you be as worried if this had happened before that ?

It could be a simply case of the flu , or a nasty cold , it MIGHT indicate a recurrance of cancer . Taking him to the Doctor was the thing to do. You might be slightly less scared if you went with him .

Good luck, hopefully its something minor .

Sounds like he might have a stomach flu...stomach ache, fever that is making him feel cold.

Take a deep breath and let yourself calm down. He is just as likely today to catch a virus now, as he was before he had the cancer treatment. Chances are it is nothing.

Good luck to you!

first, i'm glad that the cancer was found in time & it was removed. good for you that you got him for another 1.5 yrs.
but, sugar, the ONLY person that can truly answer THIS question for you is HIS doctor.
other people (and even other doctors will only be able to spectulate- that is NOT what you need right now).
did you go to the dr's visit with your sister & your husband... or were you too upset.
my i suggest that you pray (to the God of YOUR understanding.. whomever that maybe) for strength & courage.
and be CALM when you get the info(whatever it may be) about the dr's visit.
it 'may be' nothing. but if it is NOT you will need that strength & courage to help YOUR husband to get thru this too.
