From what I've heard, it happening all over. France and Germany are having the same problem from what I've been told. Why is this happening? I have nothing agianst immigrants so long as their legal, but they don't seem to take an interest in assimilating into the culture of the country that's taking them in. They rather prefer to live in their own ethnic ghettos and live off the goverment at the expense of tax payers. They don't even try to learn the language of thier host country. Pluse most of them don't seem to understand the meaning of birth control as they breed like rabbits.

Because they would rather live in a rich country than a 3rd world country. Wouldn't you? And the U.S. and the U.K. are most certainly not being "overrun" by 3rd worlders. Yes, many people from 3rd world countries are moving in, but as long as they immigrate legally, why does that bother you so much?!
Why do you care if immigrants they don't assimilate into the culture of the country they moved to, or learn their language?! It does not harm you in any way if they do not assimilate or learn the language of the country they moved to, as long as they immigrated legally. You probably just can't stand being reminded that foreign languages and cultures exist.

I dont know all the reasons why people go to live in other countries - there must be hundred different reasons - but what most people in host countries dont realise is that it takes years for people to become assimilated into another country. Sometimes generations. Look at the Asian population in Britain - the first generation didn't assimilate much, they kept themselves to themselves, but the 2nd & 3rd generation are so much more integrated than before (And I'm not talking about radical muslims, just Asian kids in general). But you can't say the Asians haven't contributed can you?

You should blame your Government for not doing enough to either a) keep an eye on population count, and b) not doing enough to enducate immigrants and migrant workers in English language when they come here. Seems like basic common sense to me.

This problem is all over the world. The British ruled India.Africa,Myanmar etc over 100 years. After these countries got freedom many British people settled there, but remain seggregated from the mainstream and retain their culture.Similarly Myamnar refugees in Sri Lanka,Bangladesh immigrants in India,UK settlers in South Africa all retain the identity of their motherland. It is difficult to forget the roots or origin. But this may change as the generations pass on.There is no need to blame any body.It is just human nature.

In a word... Globalization.

Globalization

Globalization – the growing integration of economies and societies around the world – has been one of the most hotly-debated topics in international economics over the past few years. Rapid growth and poverty reduction in China, India, and other countries that were poor 20 years ago, has been a positive aspect of globalization. But globalization has also generated significant international opposition over concerns that it has increased inequality and environmental degradation. This site provides access to some of the most recent presentations on globalization and some of the leading research on the subject.

The situation you describe sounds very much like the British in Empire days - don't assimilate, don't learn the language, live in their own ghettos, etc.

The weak goverment of the uk will let anyone in. Idont mind if they work + pay tax likethe rest of us, but some just come for the free social+ health care. Our senior citizens struggle, yet these people get everything provided on a plate.

My parents were immigrants, but I have to agree with you. It really is annoying. Everything is so segregated
Just a few weeks ago some radio personality, Bruce Allen, said something about this in Canada and there was a huge outburst of criticism. I don't agree entirely with him, but Canada, though it be diverse, is an English speaking country.

too tolerant...pple should assimilate..they should learn the language of the host nation. There are many english and Americans etc living in Spain, Portgual etc that have not learnt the language of the host nation, that too is wrong.

immigrants tend to live where their are other immigrants..no problem with that....

also its not all immigrants who breed like rabbits. Some uk citizens breed a lot too...in deprived areas.....look at any place where there is little education... pple tend to breed a lot as they don't work and have too much time on their hands...the educated and working population is too tired and stressed to breed....

it usually takes another generation to assimilate. You know go to school and learn the new language and culture. Isnt that what most immigrants do. It takes time. Its easier for a child to learn the language and customs cuz they are in american schools and its being taught there.
The third world country is our neighbor, and therefore are going to come in. You know you would too if you had to.
