READ... THEN THINK LOGICALY.... THEN ANSWER
(not counting the belief in reincarnation)
every religion believes they are the one true means by which all of its followers shall be awarded the right of passage into (Heaven , the afterlife, ect..) and (not sure but probably most) if you do not follow the beliefs of that religion then your going to hell. With that said, wouldnt everyone go to hell no matter what they did?
would it not be easier to say that all religions are false, that there is or maybe a god/higher power/ect. and just be good and go to heaven?

I think that people need religion in order to give them structure. There is also a need to be right, and they like to assume that what they believe is absolute truth. If that is the case, then, by definition everyone else is wrong.
If people are unsure of their faith or their facts, they tend to be even more adamant than if they were content with their beliefs. There seems to be a need to convince yourself, and we humans tend to do that by being the loudest.
People who are convinced, don't need to convince anyone else, and they don't have to prove anything.

Your answer doesn't make much sense in that adherents of an absolutist religion, (MY religion is the ONLY true way) often truly believe that their religion is the one and only correct one.
If they all believed that their religion was the correct one, then they would also (and DO) believe everyone else will go to hell, and they'll be saved. In other words they still believe they're right no matter who else makes the same claim for another religion.
Why would a Catholic decide to just discount their religion because it excludes so many people as far as "salvation" goes?
There are faiths or philosophies that believe that as long as a person tries to be good that they will do well in the afterlife, if there is one, but most people that adhere to an "all or nothing" faith will not consider such an idea.
So, while it might be easier (for some, others I believe need absolute "black/white" rules and regulations) the choice has been around for a long time and "right or wrong turn-or-burn" religions still thrive.

You're wrong right off the hop, I'm afraid.
Wicca, and several of the other Neo-Pagan religions, do NOT believe that they are "the only way" to whatever God/s may exist. Instead, they teach that there are many paths to the same destination, and that all religions are correct to their adherents; in many cases, atheism and agnosticism are also viewed as honorable perspectives on the mysteries of life.
As far as we are concerned, the exact opposite of what you're stating is true: there are many, many ways to approach God and to dwell in blessedness. Ours is not the only way, and we feel no need to convert others to our faith.
EDITED TO ADD: Actually, what you said was:
'every religion believes they are the one true means by which all of its followers shall be awarded the right of passage into (Heaven , the afterlife, ect..)"
And I've just pointed out that no, Wicca and several other Neo-Pagan faiths do NOT believe this. We believe that we are NOT the "one true means" that will be rewarded.
You might want to actually read my answer next time. ;-)

First my belief system doesn't purport in any way, shape, or form to be the means for anything. Second, religion exists as a means of absolving individuals of responsiblilty for wrong action or lack of action when action should have been taken. Ex: "God" (if there is one) made me do this or that. If you accept Jesus into your heart now you'll be rewarded later. Now, having said those two things I can safely say life is in the present for the living and if you do good now you'll reap the benefits...if you do evil now you'll be punished (even if you're not caught you're conscious won't allow you to escape so easy). To that end heaven and hell are just allegories on how to live in the here and now--PRESENTLY. PEACE!

Psalm 37: 1 Do not show yourself heated up because of the evildoers, Do not be envious of those doing unrighteousness. 2 For like grass they will speedily wither, And like green new grass they will fade away. 8 Let anger alone and leave rage; Do not show yourself heated up only to do evil. 9 For evildoers themselves will be cut off, But Those Hoping in Jehovah Are The ones that Will Possess the Earth 10 And just a little longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But The Meek Ones [teachable] themselves will Possess The Earth, And They Will Indeed Find Their Exquisite Delight in the Abundance of Peace 22 For those being blessed by him [Jehovah] will themselves possess the earth. But those upon whom evil is called by him [Jehovah] will be cut off. [ totally distroyed] 20 The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And They Will Reside Forever Upon It.
What will man expect upon dying?
Acts 24: 15 and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a Resurrection [bringing back to life] of the righteous and the unrighteous.
Acts 17: 29 - 34 speaks also of resurrection and what we need to do to gain it.

Just looking at your question at face value then yes we would all go to hell because we do all fall short. Christianity teaches that Christ made it possible to return to heaven through what is called the atonement. Can't speak for other religions but without this mediator what you are saying does make sense.

Your question bases the acquiring of heaven on earning it, which can never be done. Heaven is a gift, a grace freely given by God. We could never do enough to earn our way there, because you must be perfect to enter heaven, which will never happen on this earth no matter how much you do.

I see. So on tests do you always choose "none of the above"? Just because there are false "answers" doesn't mean every single one of them is wrong.
Ok, great. Then I hope you will do some research into why Jesus is who He says He is.

The worst thing that ever happened to God was the formation of structured religion. My God is not a vengeful, judging God, He/She is a loving and compassionate God who delights in all of us.
He/She doesn't set rules, or is conditional, it's only man that uses fear to controll and manipulate us.
A good rule of thumb is, in any religion, if there's rules, it's man made.
