“…when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets”
“…when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners”
“…when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the [others] do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words”
“…when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces.”

Jesus said all of this 2000 years ago…(Matthew 6:2-16)

Do you think He would say the same today about some, or even many, Christians?

Yes, I think he would be dissapointed at many of us. Followers of Christ, we should follow and do as Christ did, he was 'humble', to say even the least. Instead of preaching what he did, we should try to be more like him through our actions, not our mouths.

its human nature to want a pat on the back
for good deeds. I think we have to pray
really hard to keep our mouths shut.
I dont think God honors our deeds if we brag
about them
