Video isn't film! Video is an electronic recording, while film uses light-sensitive chemicals to store the images. The x-rays don't change the chemicals, but something electronic like the x-ray system could possibly disrupt electronic recordings.

Always ask for hand-checking when dealing with vacation memories, video or film!

i have travelled a lot overseas and not had this problem. it takes an exceptionally strong magnetic field to affect videotape, particularly the evaporated metal type used for miniDV. i suggest you make some test recordings with your camera, i suspect the problem is with your equipment.
