NO, However I think you should know that, the rights women do have in islam have been around for 1500 years. You on the other hand and your people started treating women like human beings since early 1900s Also, A man does not equal to a woman because 1 does not equal 2. Your logic doesnt make sense. Women have their place in islam and men have theirs. If you are not happy with that then you are not a muslim so why does it bother you? On the other hand, there are idiots and extremists, just like the amish and the mormons among us muslims who make it worse than what it is, but who cares what you think about my lifestyle.

Your point is well taken. A technical correction: there are only some matters on which a woman's testimony is worth only half that of a man's. But, until Islamic countries make it possible for women to drive automobiles (Saudis, take note), the notion of equality is a fantasy. Still, Islam gave women more rights than they had previously had -- which was basically none.

Islam gives women and men right according to their nature, which is unchangeble. Despite what people have attempted to do various forms of brainwashing experiments.
In some cases the man is better and in other cases the women.
A female judge can overide any ruling of a man, is she see fit. Women scholars can testify to hadith authentication which is higher form of testimony.
The reason why a Muslim womans testimony is worth half of man is because a woman can be coherced into making a wrong statement by other men. Its easier to force women into this.
Also women are naturally more squemish, so if there is a murder taking place they are more likely to look away. So if someone looks away could their testimoney be relied upon?
The reason why the mans share in inhertance is more is because he HAS to pay out form his share and the woman doesn't have to pay out anything.
Lets not forget that its only recently that women had rights to inhert in victorian times, they had no rights at all.
And can you be so sure that this won't change? Everything is changing why not this?
Islam is not just a religion for one time, its for all time and all places.
A woman can refuse to breast feed her own children, cook and clean giving her partner no choice but to pay for a cleaner and a cook.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that heaven is at the feet of the mother, meaning the service of the mother. There is nothing similar to this for a man.
The beauty of a rightous women in heaven is greater than the handmadiens of paradise who spit would turn the oceans sweet, if they spat into it. So how beautiful would a rightous woman be then? There is nothing like this for a man.

My thought is that back then women where not out openly like men so when a women was out of the house she was likely with her husband or relative or with another women! And if in case something did happen she would have someone their to collaborate her story!
And for the inheritance, a women will get married and her husband will support her, but the Man will have a family to take care of on his own and will not have the support of anyone to help him with that! Thus is why a girl is given less!

You can look this up if you dont believe me, but research done a few years ago proved that women psychologically tend to get emotional and jumble facts up in their mind. The second woman is needed to help get the facts straight. Moreover, this is not in all cases. Therefore, this doenst diminish the woman at all. It is purely based on science, as many other laws in Islam are.
A womans inheiritance is not half of a mans. That is just what is reccomended considering the man is the breadwinner of the family, and who would probably need it more. If a woman needed the money more, it is permissible to give the money to the women (my dad and his brother are not on his parents will, period)

I think a lot of the problems lie with culture and not religion
I have seen many passages from the Muslims here that back up the equality between men and women
but the Islamic countries need to move with the times though and recognise the importance of women

Women are more emotional then men are and because of this they might contaminate their testimony in court or might forget what they are talking about so that is why there has to be another woman there to remind her. But a man is not as emotional as a woman and is less likely to contaminate the jury and the court proceedings.

A womans testimony is worth half a mans' simply because women use their hearts to think whereas men use their brains/ minds. Basically women are more emotional when men are more...whats the word?
it is scientifically proven that men are better with numbers whilst women are better with words.
which means that what men do/say must be more accurate while womens' speech wont be as accurate...
anyway getting back to the point...
Women get less inheritance due to the fact that, in Islam it is not required of us to go out and earn our money, or to provide for a children.Thats a mans job (ha ha!!!)
a man has to provide for his wife.If he dies its up to her father/brother/son to provide for her.
a father has to provide for his daughter, if he dies her brother/uncle/ grandad/son have to provide her.
a son has to provide for his mother if he dies its up to her brother/grandson etc provide for her.
get the drift?
an orphan who has no male member of her family to provide for her?
its up to the muslim nation as a whole to provide for her.
women in Islam?we just sit back and shop on ebay!!!

Obviously the Muslim claim that women are equal to men and that Islam is fair to women, is a lie.

The rules are all jacked up over there. The men want to feel much more powerful than women in their worthless country, yet they were born from a woman. (I hope)
