to leave your dog out side how cold is to cold, i live in VA, USA what is the coldest you can leave your dog outside without being cruel or how cold can it be if you leave him out for like one or two hours?

Well basically, think what sort of temperature would be uncomfortable for YOU if you were outside with a coat on, it's the same thing.

I can't believe someone actually basically said anything above freezing is OK what are they, demonic?

If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for the dog. No way you can leave them outside in VA in the fall and winter (and it's often too hot in summer too).

Ya know! I would just let the poor thing stay in the house, garage, basement, utility room. Anywhere other than outside in the winter.

Anything below freezing point is too cold to leave a pet outdoors for a significant amount of time without any shelter.

it depends on the dog. What kind is it? Malamtes and Huskies can take more cold than like a chihuahua or a terrier can.

My dog lives outside!! I just make sure that he has shelter and put him in a barn every night. It has been below than 32 degrees here. dogs were ment to live outside! My dog was a stray and slept in the rain ans snow and stuff. Now I am taking care of him.
