How much could one reasonably expect to receive in compensation for a fractured pelvis injury sustained in a motorcycle accident, where the car driver who hit the motorcyclist was at fault?

It probably depends on how aggressive the personal injury attorney is, but what would be a ball park figure, for the injury component and not relating to the damage to the motorcycle?

If you have a lawyer you better ask him/her/it. Of course, by doing that you have just lost 33% of your settlement.

If you have an attorney ask him - that's what you are paying him 1/3 of your settlement for.

If you do not have an attorney - one thing that will factor in is how much coverage the car that hit you has. The per person limit of liability for bodily injury is the most his company can pay you regardless how bad your injury is or how high your medical bills are.

With out knowing more about your injury - the treatment involved - how much your meds are - what the at fault person's limits are - there is not much more I can tell you.

However, since you have a fractured pelvis -if you have under-insured motorist coverage on your motorcycle, call your insurance company and report the claim to them. This way - if the other driver does not have sufficient limits to pay your injury claim, you can come back against your policy. However, you may not have UIM (under-insured motorist) - it's usually not a state required coverage.
