Is it normal for a 8-9 week old golden retriver puppy to pee a lot... like 30 times a day?

Sounds like something may be wrong with this one. Does the puppy get a lot of outside time? I know I'm human and if I spend all day cooped up inside air conditioning, I pee a lot myself (I'm not sweating so I have to get rid of stuff by peeing it out). Call a vet.

Puppies have very small bladders and they do pee a lot. I don't know if 30 times is excessive. Would be if you are having to mop. Check and see if his pee is completely clear or dark in color,(dark can mean blood) It should have some color, but not dark or really stinky. Does he pee a big puddle or a small amount. Small amount means he may be having a hard time emptying his bladder and so he pees often. He may need to see the vet. He could have an extra small tube to pee through, he could have a stone, or a birth defect. Could be simple or really serious. But go check with the vet.
Don't assume because he doesn't complain that he is not in pain. Dogs generally don't complain because that is an indication to his pack that he is weak. And weak members are attacked....so dogs don't complain. or at least most don't. I've know a few complainers in my life.

You may want to get him to the vet, sounds like he might be getting dehydrated. This is also, one of the first signs of Parvo. If he is also, sleeping more than he has been before, and continues to not eat, I would not wait any longer to seek medical attention for him. Being in a strange environment can make a puppy nervous, and stress is not something he needs more of if he is getting sick. I hope he gets better. By the way, how old is the puppy? How many Puppy shots has he had since age 6-weeks?

Yes if you have water for it left down like your supposed to do. If your taking the pup out to pee and it does then comes back inside and pees again with out drinking more water then I'd have the pup checked for a UTI. It's not unheard of for a young pup.
Pupps only have a bladder the size of a walnut so it's not going to hold it for too long. Maybe an hour tops!

Not that much!
Maybe up to 8-10 x's a day, depending on how much liquids and excitement the pup's getting.

If it's that frequent, take a sample of pee in to vet to test for possible bladder infection.

its very normal what you can do is train him..or her...how? pay close attention to what time of the day he or she pees and then....when you figure that out you'll know when your dog needs to go...try walking him a little more and give him or her a treat every time they pee outside. Remember to reward positive things that you want your dog to do. And most importantly remember its just a puppy so you have to be very patient with him(her).

that's a little much unless you are scaring the pee out of her but you have to understand they need to build the bladder muscles before having any control over them and many puppies pee out of excitement or nervousness plus all the other times. keep monitoring it if it doesnt get better once she grows up a little then see your vet

Is it drinking a lot? Is he actually PEEING or just dribbling a bit? If he's drinking a lot, and actually peeing, that can be a sign of diabetes. Have a blood test done. Or, if he is just sort of dribbling, it might be something else. Take him to the vet.

Yes if you're leaving the water down all the time - Liquid in, liquid out - That's how puppies work...

i worked as a vet tech for some time! is he drinking alot of water? could be a sign of diabetes? Are you in warm weather b/c if it's hot he'll need to hydrate more as it warm and he is a baby still! he could be marking his territory. He is peeing alot in one area or just a sprinkle? if it's a sprinkle then he's marking his terriory. otherwise, please call your vet!\
